Founded eighty years ago, the NCR is now comprised of the states of Shady, Los Angeles, Maxson, Hub, and Dayglow.NCR history holodisk

Maxson is one of the five states of the New California Republic, alongside the states of Shady, Los Angeles, the Hub, and Dayglow.[1]

Background[]

Following the destruction of the Master, the Brotherhood had good relations with the developing New California Republic, to the point that one of the states of the federation was named after the founder of the Brotherhood: Roger Maxson. However, Lost Hills was never incorporated into the NCR.[2] Thanks to its proximity to the bunker, the state enjoyed the protection of the Brotherhood of Steel.[3]

Appearances[]

The state of Maxson is mentioned in Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and the Fallout Bible.

  2. Fallout Bible 6: "2. How was the Brotherhood of Steel involved with NCR after the destruction of the Enclave?
Unknown. Presumably, they'd already established some level of co-existence with NCR even before the events of F1, judging by one of the states of NCR being dubbed "Maxson" (more on that in a future update except to say that the Lost Hills Bunker was NOT turned into a town in NCR) and considering their pre-existing ties to the Hub, which became a state by the time of F2. I've always imagined that NCR and BOS have maintained an uneasy truce, with barter and (some) technology sharing between the two groups."
