Duck and Cover! is an aid item in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. It is a book containing information about the manufacture and disarming of explosives.
Variants
Standard edition
This edition is commonly found in the Capital Wasteland and Mojave Wasteland. Using it will add one point to explosives in Fallout 3 (two with the Comprehension perk, or three points to explosives in Fallout: New Vegas (four with the Comprehension perk).
Behind the scenes
The book is based on a late 1950s through 1960s short Cold War educational film called Duck and Cover, a film about a turtle named Bert, who would "duck and cover" at the first sign of any danger. The film was presented to students in classrooms across the United States to teach children what to do in the event of a nuclear attack on the country, and that a nuclear attack could happen at any time.
