The boom bug is a creature used as a thrown explosive in Fallout Tactics 2197 .
Characteristics [ ] Boom bugs are mutant ladybugs that have a tendency to explode. They are less effective than frag grenades , but the lack of grenades in the early stages of the game makes them more viable. Boom bug explosions can poison targets. They explode in a buggy, toxic mist that damages all targets within a 5 hex radius.
Locations [ ] They can be found in large quantities (100+) on the dead bodies of the tribals in Peoria , where one's mission entails retrieving three fusion batteries.
The hostile Beastlord faction almost always carries a few boom bugs with them in their war parties. This is on account of their use of animals and other nature-oriented weapons in combat. Template:Navbox weapons FOT
