Although collectively called Tesla armor, the set actually consists of only the arms and torso pieces. All three provide a slight bonus to damage dealt with energy weapons of 5% per item, or 15% if all three are equipped. Otherwise, they are completely identical to regular T-60 power armor components in terms of damage resistance, upgrade options.
All Tesla T-60 parts feature additional technical components that make them easily distinguishable from their regular versions. These take the form of multiple heavy-duty electrodes sizzling with electricity that are interconnected via thick cabling. Three are mounted on each pauldron, two on each forearm, and another two particularly large tank-like examples on the back of the torso piece.
Owing to their status as unique items, Tesla T-60 armor pieces always display the "Tesla" identifier in their name regardless of upgrades or mods.
Locations[]
All three parts can be acquired during the quest Headhunting by killing Ivey in the Fort Hagen hangar. Ivey also wears the remaining pieces of a regular suit of T-60 power armor and wields the unique Tesla rifle.
Notes[]
Tesla armor pieces require more and different resources to be repaired than regular T-60 pieces. For example, repairing a T-60 Tesla Torso requires 10 steel, 6 aluminum, 3 circuitry (regular T-60 Torso requires 10 steel, 3 aluminum, 3 plastic, 1 circuitry ).
Installing the Tesla bracers mod into an arm piece results in its name being changed to "Tesla bracers Tesla T-60 (armor piece)."
Outfitting the torso piece with a jetpack will result in the latter clipping through the Tesla tanks mounted to the torso's back.
Painting the Tesla left arm with any Brotherhood of Steel paint slightly covers the sigil.
In the Polish version of the game the default armor is named Tesla T-59.
The actual power armor frame worn by Ivey is uniquely named "Tesla Power Armor" rather than "Power Armor," although it has no special properties. It can only be obtained by pickpocketing or shooting the fusion core from her armor before killing her.
