關於other characters named James,參見James

I don't know a thing about no missing refugees from that Aerotech camp. Go cry to somebody else.

Saint James is a slaver living in Westside in 2281.

Background[]

Saint James has rented a room at the Casa Madrid Apartments and pretends to work as a prospector scavenging around New Vegas,[1][2] but in secret has turned to selling refugees as slaves to the Fiends, together with his partner Dermot.[3] He is a deeply disturbed individual, not particularly bright,[4] and has control issues with women.[5]

He is also an alleged pedophile, as his partner mentions that he needs to "keep SJ of the girls" which works "so long as he got his damn teddy."[3] The teddy he acquired from a blond little girl, who was part of one of the missing families from Aerotech Office Park.[6][7][8]

Saint James also uses the teddy in his sessions with Sweetie, his favorite prostitute, who refers to him as "creepy" but not the worst she has dealt with, but more "perverted than most."[9]

However, he does not have a key and can not get in (unless the player has picked the lock on the door). He will walk back and forth outside his apartment room until he is scripted to go back outside. This prevents the player from being able to slip into his room behind him to search for clues during The Coyotes quest. [已验证]

The map marker points to an unreachable location, sometimes near the Lucky 38 or the Monorail. If this happens, it renders the quest impossible to complete. Some players cannot find him even before the quest is given, even through waiting. This means the quest cannot be begun or completed. [已验证]

  1. Courier: "Do you know Saint James?"
Sweetie: "Sure do. Saint James is my number one customer. He's a prospector who pays Marco to stay here at the Casa week to week. I don't know why his friend Dermot chose to stay here - he's never been with me or nobody else. But Saint James likes having me close at hand."
    (Sweetie's dialogue)
  2. Courier: "What do you know about Dermot and Saint James?"
MaudeMaude: "Those boys been living here a while now. They sell salvage and do all right. I never been with either of them. That Saint James is all over Sweetie every time he rustles up the caps to afford her. She says he's peculiar but who isn't?"
    (Maude's dialogue)

  4. Courier: "Tell me about Dermot, your partner."
Saint James: "What do you even mean? He's Dermot. Dermot knows how to work salvage than any man I ever met. Doesn't go asking questions all day, neither."
    (Saint James's dialogue)
  5. Saint James: "When I talk to a girl, I start the conversation! And I didn't start no conversation with you."
    (Saint James's dialogue)
  6. Courier: "What can you tell me about the missing people?"
Captain Parker: "They never seemed to have much in common - that's why I didn't notice it sooner. Young folks, old folks, men, women... all disappearing. I remember a family with a little blonde girl. She... never talked much, but she always carried this little stuffed teddy bear."
    (Captain Parker's dialogue)
  7. Courier: "Look what I found in your room. <Show him the teddy bear.>"
Saint James: "What you doing stealing my stuff? That ain't even mine. I mean it's mine, but it's private. Give it back! Hell, don't give it back! I don't care. Just found it when we was working salvage and thought I'd save it to give to some kid if one came by."
    (Saint James's dialogue)
  8. Courier: "I found this teddy bear in Saint James' room. Look familiar?"
Captain Parker: "That... I think that's her teddy bear! It's suspicious, but it doesn't tell us what happened to the refugees. Damn. Combined with that ledger you found in Dermot's room, it's enough for me to have them brought in for questioning."
    (Captain Parker's dialogue)
  9. Courier: "Let's say 100 caps. Or you could earn zero keeping your mouth shut."
Sweetie: "[SUCCEEDED] Funny how I make caps every time I open my mouth. Saint James has problems, that's for sure. Never wants me to say a thing, or for me to move around, either. Lately he brings a teddy bear with him and props it on the bed like it's watching us. It's creepy as hell. Not the worst I ever been with, but more a pervert than most."
    (Sweetie's dialogue)
