Background[]
Alana Secord is a high-ranked member of the Synth Retention Bureau. She feels like she spends half her time smoothing things over after Justin Ayo has ruffled the feathers of the other divisions and the other half monitoring the surface for rogue synths and other threats to the Institute.

Sometime during the development of the add-on Far Harbor, the player character would have been able to interact with Alana and Justin Ayo regarding the synth settlement of Acadia. Although the dialogue itself for these encounters cannot be found in the game's files, placeholder audio recorded by an unknown person, likely a developer, remains in the files. Based on this, it is likely that this content was cut because the voice actors could not return to reprise their roles. In the final version of the add-on, Institute interactions with Acadia are fulfilled by a new character, William Moseley. An example of Alana's cut dialogue can be listened to here.
