背景
该款枪械是在资源战争期间，由中国的大型工业联合企业中国北方工业公司专为中国人民解放军对美国进行渗入作战的部队以及美国的第五纵队成员设计及制造的。为此目的考虑，其采用的弹药是在美国十分充足的北约制式5.56mm子弹。
数千支此种枪械通过走私方式到达美国东海岸地区，用于装备中国渗入的特种部队士兵和共产主义的同情者。而在核大战的200年之后，很多枪械仍然可以正常使用。有证据表明在战后的条件下已经可以生产此类枪械。
特征
中制突击步枪是一款第二代通用型自动枪械。它与R91突击步枪使用同样的5.56毫米子弹。在所有普通的突击步枪之中，它的基础伤害、DPS和耐久度都是最高的。它与其它型号的突击步枪拥有同样的装弹量、动作点数耗费、以及扩散性（但在实际使用中它的精确度似乎比其他突击步枪要差一些）。同样地，它与其他突击步枪一样，在近距离遭遇战中可能会不太有利（见下）。尽管如此，它仍是一支从游戏的早期直至末期都能发挥出巨大杀伤力的自动武器，特别是对于小型枪械精通的角色它将更为强大。

Acquiring the Chinese Assault Rifle
The Chinese Assault Rifle seems to be less common than the R91, but plenty can be found in many locations throughout The Capital Wasteland and from certain NPC's. At higher PC levels, Super Mutant Masters carry this weapon thus making it more accessible.

Background
It was designed and manufactured by Chinese industrial conglomerate Norinco for the People's Liberation Army during the Resource Wars, for the purpose of equipping the Chinese infiltrators and American fifth-columnists. To this end, it was chambered for the abundant NATO 5.56mm round.
Thousands of these weapons were smuggled into the US for use by Chinese operatives and sympathizers on the East Coast, and many remain functional even two hundred years after the Great War. These rifles are also proven to be ready for manufacturing in post-war conditions.
Surviving examples are used by various groups and individuals in the Capital Wasteland, including super mutants (particularly super mutant masters), Talon Company mercenaries (on lower levels), Chinese commandos (before and after the war), certain scavengers and some members of the Brotherhood of Steel. It's also carried by Lucas Simms, sheriff of Megaton. Jericho is also armed with this weapon.
Bugs
- In close quarters conditions, the rifle can clip targets or level geometry. This causes all shots to miss the target or be absorbed by geometry, even when the muzzle protrudes beyond the obstruction.
