Yao guai meat is a food item found in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics
Yao guai meat provides a small health boost with a reasonably high radiation penalty. However, it also provides a 10% boost in damage dealt by the player. This applies separate of any other damage bonuses other than its own, and will stack with similar effects like psycho.
Fallout 3
Yao guai meat can be obtained by killing a yao guai, and can also be purchased from some merchants and hunters in the Capital Wasteland.
Fallout: New Vegas
- Though no yao guai are present in the Mojave Wasteland, a single piece of yao guai meat can be found inside Legate's war tent, located in the Legate's Camp. It will be inaccessible if you are sent to kill Lanius.
- In the Honest Hearts add-on however, yao guai are very common, so yao guai meat is plentiful. Once the add-on is installed, stores in the Mojave Wasteland will also begin to stock yao guai meat.
Notes
- The increased damage effect cannot be stacked to increase past 10%. However, eating multiple pieces will increase the duration of the effect.
- The meat shares a model with dog meat.
