The X-7a "Left Field" artillery launch is a location in Big MT in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Old World Blues.
Layout[]
Situated west of the Cuckoo's Nest and south-southwest of the Saturnite alloy research facility in the ordinal southwest side of Big MT, the location exterior consists of a few gantries with ladders leading up to them. The area is guarded by the unique enemy, the RY-589 Ultimo bot. A group of Y-17 trauma override harnesses may team up with several lobotomites just outside the hole in the northeast fence. They remain grouped together until attacked.
The indoor area of the command center is mostly destroyed and contains a couple of skeletons as well as some ammo boxes. There is a military truck that has crashed through the wall and can also be seen from inside of the building.
Notable loot[]
- LAER - Carried by the RY-589 Ultimo Bot.
- Recipes - Explosives skill book - Found inside the artillery command center, on the big machine that is above the three ammunition boxes.
- Missile launcher - Found on the rear of a truck.
- Proton throwing axe - Two in the artillery bunker.
Notes[]
- One of the skeletons inside the command room was apparently hit by the truck which smashed through the center's wall, leaving the former corpse in the position with its legs spread and an artillery shell pointing at its pelvis.
- On the platform in between the fixed guns, there is a console where a "test fire" sequence can be activated, which fires one of the guns, opening a crater in the northwest portion of the X-7b "Boom Town" target zone with an atomic-valence tri-radii-oscillator and the Guns skill book recipe inside a footlocker. The gun can be fired an infinite number of times, but no other changes to the world will occur.
- The area by the command center will play the same music as that played in the Sierra Madre vault in Dead Money.
- The door to the command room has a blue Old World flag left by Ulysses.
Appearances[]
The X-7 "Left Field" artillery launch appears only in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Old World Blues.
Behind the scenes[]
The artillery guns located at the launch are actually miniaturized versions of the ones found at the Artillery Overlook in the Fallout 3 add-on Operation: Anchorage.
