A wrench or spanner is a tool used to provide grip and mechanical leverage in applying torque to turn objects, usually rotary fasteners, such as nuts and bolts.
In Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics, it is used as a weapon, while in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas it remains as a simple miscellaneous item, used to make weapon repair kits. In Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, wrenches are junk items, while pipe wrenches are used as weapons.
