Witness a secret transaction is an unmarked quest in Fallout 2.
Unmarked Quest: Witness a secret transaction
Go to the Wright Estate and talk to one of Wright children.
Bribe the child with an unloaded gun and let him take the Chosen One to the transaction area.
Stay behind the boxes and wait until the deal has ended.
Leave the transaction area.
Reward: 1500 XP
Talk to any of the four kids playing before the Wright Estate. Ask him what game they are playing and he will say they are imitating "metal people" that come from "metal insects" they have seen in the desert.
Bribe him with an unloaded pistol (the cheapest pistol you have will be taken) to show you where they saw them and follow him. You will find yourself hiding behind the boxes peeking at Salvatores trading with Enclave soldiers. Stay put until the transaction is over to receive the reward. Then leave without anyone noticing you.
- If you follow the kids while Help guard a secret transaction taking place in the desert is active, you will not receive the reward. Instead, that will count as guarding the transaction and if you've already talked to Mason, the Chosen One will be at the usual guard's position. [verified]
- Upon returning to the Wright estate, four pools of blood at the place where the children were playing can be seen (this can be prevented by opening trade menu and buying back the gun - stealing the gun back is also possible, but not when Chosen One agrees to follow the kids to the transaction place as the dialogue is closed and player transported to the location).
- If you let anyone notice you at the secret site, the secret trade will be disrupted (this will damage the Salvatores' power) and the Salvatores will turn hostile.
