Wind farm maintenance is a location on the Island in 2287.

Background[]

The wind farm was constructed as an initiative of GDA Fusion, an energy company working to improve its reputation among government representatives vacationing on the Island following accusations the corporation was poisoning groundwater. An employee at the wind farm researching sustainable energy solutions eventually submitted a report to the corporation's board. Following a review, the wind farm was given two weeks to shut down after the board determined that investing in a technology that could rival fusion energy was not in the company's best interest.[1]

Currently, the site is supplying power to Far Harbor and its fog condensers.

Layout[]

The wind farm maintenance building is a concrete bunker built into the side of the mountain below Acadia. A locked security door encountered shortly after entering the building can only be opened by repairing the fuse box in the room to the right of the door. All four of the industrial-grade fuses required to repair the box can be found on various shelves in the small area outside the door. Beyond the door, several hostile Assaultrons and turrets guard the three turbine regulator terminals related to the quest Cleansing the Land.

Notes[]

  • The marker for this location does not appear on the map until after DiMA's cache has been visited and the relevant memory has been retrieved from his data banks, unless it is discovered before then.
  • According to the distribution terminal entries, section 3 provides power to Far Harbor, section 2 provides power to Acadia, and section 1 is a backup.
  • All three sections are guarded by machinegun turrets, as well as the roaming assaultrons.
  • If Old Longfellow is a companion, he will warn the player character not to touch anything, as this location supplies power to Far Harbor.

Appearances[]

Wind farm maintenance appears only in the Fallout 4 add-on Far Harbor.
