For an overview of mutfruit in the Fallout series of games, see mutfruit.

Wild mutfruit is a consumable item in Fallout 4.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

Wild mutfruit is a small purple fruit that grows on a small tree that bears yellow leaves. It looks very similar to the regular mutfruit but the wild variant looks a bit darker, possibly from the quality of the soil.

It cannot be planted in settlements and cannot be used in recipes, unlike regular mutfruit.

It is one of four wild plant types (in the base game) that, in Survival mode, provides food value, and does not provide their health buff unless the player character is already Well Fed. Hence it behaves like normal non-wild mutfruit when consumed.

The HP benefit for consuming this item is increased by the Chemist perk.

Notes[edit | edit source]

Wild mutfruit bushes seem to permanently stop producing wild mutfruit after several harvests. Wasteland Workshop Five wild mutfruit are required to build a gorilla cage. One is required to repair the cage after catching a gorilla.
