Weird note is a paper note in Fallout 76, introduced in the Once in a Blue Moon update. It is written by Aries.
Location[]
The note can be found on the ground at the Middle Mountain Pitstop. It is in front of the General Store, near a blue vehicle with cargo loaded in its bed, behind some Blue Ridge Caravan Company crates and a royal jelly spawn.

Behind the scenes[]
“clyde my friend let me know if you find one with white on it i need a hunting companion for finding the mother”— Decoded note meaning
- The contents of the note are a cipher that can be solved using the "new code" and "old code" from the Middle Mountain Pitstop terminal entries. The key to the cipher is "Clyde" (the owner of the terminal). It is the same code used for the term "Z?B2Y" in the Investigation report. The note's text must be reversed to create the intended message (so 86WFY#W1EBYUF6Y2#YHU*ZB1W*51BUF*UYZB2?Z?B2Y*UB2BUYYFR?5U2BUO8*#CRUB*U1*E1BUFBUO2?Y#*2?YE).
- The raw output of the note using the cipher is "clydemyfriendletmeknowifyoufindonewithwhiteonitineedahuntingcompanionforfindingthemother." When adding spaces, the meaning of the note becomes clear (see the quotation above).
- The code was first solved by Discord user "wastelandwalker" two days after the release of the Once in a Blue Moon Public Test Server. Developer Carl McKevitt acknowledged that wastelandwalker's decoding was correct, saying he was "genuinely impressed" it had been solved so fast.[1]
- The editor ID of the note contains the term "6Y22YE." When translated using the cipher, it means "letter."
