Watoga Station is a train station in the Cranberry Bog region of Appalachia.

Background[]

A part of the long-defunct network of train stations along the Red Line, the facility consists of a track-side platform and station building. Situated on the perimeter of Watoga, the location provided ancillary services such as a staffed ticket sales counter and automated ticket machines before the Great War.

Layout[]

The train station is unique when compared to others in the region. It is a wide, domed building with a reaching, cathedral ceiling. The ceiling is comprised of reflective diamond shapes that complement the similarly-patterned floor. The eastern wall is comprised of plantation-style slats that pivot open and closed. Two tall, Art Deco doorways are situated on both the platform and railway sides of the building, flanked by a map and pinball machine on one side and benches on the other.

There is a vendor bot on one end and restrooms on the opposite. Next to the restrooms are a wall of ticketing terminals underneath a rotating message line. A tinker's workbench and stash box are situated opposite of the terminals, under a bulletin board with various posters. There is a large clock over the restrooms, stopped at 9:47, the moment the Great War ended the world in nuclear fire.

The exterior platform is covered by a brightly-colored, curved canopy, reminiscent of wings sweeping outward over both the platform and building itself. The train station is littered with destroyed robots both inside and outside of the building. On the western side of the platform is a medical vending and legendary exchange machine, and an ammunition vending machine is situated next to the doorway leading town-side. A locomotive rests on the tracks alongside the platform, possibly having been in the station when the Great War took place and abandoned there.

Notes[]

As of the Locked & Loaded update, a punch card machine was added to all train stations.

Appearances[]

Watoga Station appears only in Fallout 76.
