The Washington, D.C. airport was an airport before the Great War, only referred to generically as "air station."

Background

Sometime after the bombs fell, a group of people trying to gain entry to Vault 101 used the scrap from the planes and buildings at the airport as building materials to create the town of Megaton. According to Manya Vargas, the airport was not far from the town. Over time, the rest of the airport was reclaimed by nature and no sign of its existence remains.[1]

Appearances

The Washington, D.C. airport is mentioned only in Fallout 3.

  1. Lone Wanderer: "There are a lot of parts here for just one machine."
Manya Vargas: "Good eye. You're right honey, there are. There was an air station a couple of miles from here. It'd been stripped of everything except the planes. My daddy got a bunch of people together to go out there, break apart the machines and drag back what we could use. It took 'em a couple of months. You can't even tell where the air station was anymore. The Wasteland just took it back."
