Walter Griswold[citation needed] is the deceased former leader of the Trappers raider gang in Appalachia in 2102.
Background
During the Great War Walter survived in what would become the Savage Divide region of Appalachia. When the survivors of the areas ski resorts formed into Raider gangs, Walter became the leader of the Trappers, a gang that made improvised explosives and booby traps their specialty. The Trappers were part of an uneasy alliance with the other gangs that made up Appalachia's raiders, to protect against the other factions and creatures of Appalachia. As part of the alliance the gangs kept their best loot in a safe and split the key amongst the five gang leaders.
At some point the Trappers appealed to the other Gangs for help clearing out the super mutants from Huntersville, but were turned down. The super mutants then attacked the Trappers main camp, capturing Walter and several other members and taking them to Huntersville. The surviving Trappers, leaderless and angered at the betrayal of the alliance, fled the area.
Later in 2102 a Resident of Vault 76 was contacted by Rose to reassemble the key to the safe containing the raider gangs main loot, and recovered the Trappers key fragment from Walter's body in Huntersville.
