Vigilant Recycler is a perk in Fallout: New Vegas.
Effects
The Vigilant Recycler perk makes you twice as likely to recover drained cells when you use Energy weapons and improves the conversion ratio when recycling drained cells from 4:1 to 3:1. If Gun Runners' Arsenal is also installed, it unlocks the "optimized" variant for every energy weapons ammo type (ECP, MFC, Energy cell, and Flamer fuel). All optimized cells share the same basic effects of increasing damage output by 30%, reducing the enemy DT by -5 and increase weapon degradation rate by 10%.
Notes
- No other materials are needed to craft energy ammunition.
- The Gun Runners' Arsenal adds new optimized energy weapons ammunition when this perk is taken, which is more powerful than Overcharged ammo, has the same DT reduction, puts less strain on the weapon and even weighs less, all for the same ammo conversion rate.
- Most of the recipes given by this perk have a Science requirement between 30 to 65, but the player needs a Science of 70 to pick the perk in the first place.

Bugs
Taking this perk will sometimes permanently alter the workbench crafting list, and will prevent new schematics from appearing at the workbench. [verified]
