The note can be found on a desk in the editor's office at the Charleston Herald building, within the package for Quinn Carter. It can be placed on the green conspiracy board with chalk on it in the Grafton Pawn Shop.
Dear Quinn Carter,
I have picked these words with care, for if there is someone as doggedly committed to the truth in Appalachia I do not know her. I am, I suppose was, one of your more ardent fans.
Know that if you read this, I am dead. Killed by agents of the US Government intent on keeping a conspiracy secret. As improbable as it may seem, the "Treasure of Appalachia" is not a hoax. It is real, and people have been killed for it.
Enclosed is part of my findings. Please, broadcast, publish, and distribute. If the other evidence is also shared, you or someone else may put all the pieces together and achieve the final truth.
A Vigilant Citizen
P.S. Time is short. At this juncture I only trust you. Please go to the Clarksburg Post Office and ask for PO Box 999.
