Vertibird is a designation for a series of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft.
Background[]
After the Great War, the United States Armed Forces utilized these vehicles to deliver supplies, such was the case in the town of Berkeley Springs.[1] Hornwright Industrial researched the capabilities of the vehicles and brainstormed how they could be utilized for their own initiatives.[2] The Appalachian Brotherhood's Scribe Valdez engages in research on the craft and keeps track of her findings at Fort Atlas.[3]
In 2104, a pilot named Lennox began transporting Vault Dwellers to the Pitt using a vertibird at The Whitespring Resort.
Characteristics[]
Crashed vertibirds may be found in random encounters around Appalachia. They are also found near former military camps and Brotherhood of Steel installations. Of all the vertibirds found across Appalachia, the aircraft above the Watoga Civic Center is the one of the few still intact.

Notes[]
The crashed vertibird near Hemlock Holes is referred to as a "skyplane" by Raymond Clark, when asked where in the Toxic Valley is a good place to fish.[4]
