Vault steel, previously known as Vault 94 steel, is a form of currency and crafting component in Fallout 76, introduced in the Nuclear Winter update.

- Like vault armor, their plans, and legendary modules, vault steel cannot be dropped.
- Prior to the Wastelanders update, Vault Steel was named "Vault 94 Steel".
- The Armorer perk (called POWER SMITH for power armor) at rank two or more reduces the cost of Vault steel needed for crafting. (This perk no longer affects the cost of vault steel. It is an unchanging 10 vault steel to craft Vault 94 armor.)
Behind the scenes[]
Each Vault Raid was originally going to award its own unique Vault Steel, and the component for Vault 96 Steel Scrap remains in the files for the game.
Bugs[]
gold bullion vendors, Purveyor Murmrgh does not refresh her vendor inventory each time she enters the trade interface. Since her inventory cannot be infinitely refreshed, the player must either server hop or wait on the same server for 216 minutes of real life time in order to replenish the stock.
