The Vault 22 cave door keycard is a miscellaneous item in Fallout: New Vegas.

Characteristics

This key card is used to access the cave in Vault 22. The cave is the only way to get to the 6 HEPA 20 Cartridge Filters you need to complete the quests Still in the Dark and Bleed Me Dry.

Location

On the fourth floor/commons area (lower level), turn left as you enter the lower level and a bit further on there is a door with a sign that reads Quarters. This door is locked with an average difficulty lock, but can also be bypassed using the terminal in the overseers office. Past the Quarters door, the Key Card is located in the first room on the left. Just inside the room door on the right is a shelf. The Key Card is sitting on a stack of papers on the shelf with the lamp (see picture).

Notes

  • The item will be droppable after using the console command "setquestobject 000F3D50 0" (PC only)
  • While it may be convenient to use explosives in the rooms to try and badger out the Spore carriers, this can cause the Keycard to be flown to another location in the room, forcing the player to rummage around in thick flora in order to obtain it.

Bugs

  • The card may not always appear and you may need to leave and come back later.
  • The card might not work on the door, e.g. the game does not recognize you have the key in your inventory (Player, Xbox 360, PS3). Try saving and loading or waiting. (Or cheat with console commands, by pressing ~ and typing movetoqt, followed by Enter. Type again to return to the Thorn after you've collected the egg pile.) - the card must be used with the terminal near the door, not the door itself
