- Prison jumpsuit: The default clothing of the player character.
- ATHENA power armor[1]
- Ballistic vest: Worn by Sparky, a Powder Ganger in Burham Springs.
- Hei Gui armor/helmet: Worn by the troops which infiltrated and sabotaged Hoover Dam.[1][2]
- Combat armor: Coleridge's renegade soldiers were equipped with this armor.[1]
- Construction outfit: Worn by two 215 Rail Line Powder Gang snipers.[3]
- Environmental suit: Worn by human slave traders.
- Gas mask: Worn by NCR soldiers aboard B.O.M.B.-001.
- Heavy environmental suit: Worn by Caius Drusus.
- HERMES armor: Intended to be the next generation of combat armor, used by elite light infantry troops. It never moved out of the prototype phase, because members of the Enclave tried to keep its development a secret.[4] Item requirements include 180 mechanics, 110 science, five pieces of advanced polycarbon, 14 pieces of boron carbide, 20 pieces of advanced polyethylene, and takes 124 hours.[1]
- Homemade wasteland armor: Worn by characters like Bear.
- Kevlar helmet: Worn by Jackson, a Powder Ganger in New Canaan.
- Leather outfit: In the Van Buren tech demo, it can be taken from Communist insurgents. Carried by Emma in New Canaan.[5]
- Magnetic boots: Needed on the spacewalk on B.O.M.B.-001.
- Motorcycle helmet: Used by some members of the Powder Gangers.
- Miner's helmet
- Night-vision goggles: General Colridge, Captain Davidson, Captain Pierce and Major Briggs all carry night-vision goggles.[6][7][8][9]
- Power armor: Armstrong wears it and if he is killed, it can be looted from his inventory.[10]
- Spacesuit: Needed in order to go on the space walk.
- Safety helmet: Worn by Phil.
- UAF armor/helmet[1][11]
- Vault jumpsuit: In the tech demo, the jumpsuit appears in-game with the number 01 on the back.
- Welding mask: Boilermaker uses a welding mask as improvised armor and protection from his flamer simultaneously.
