Regulators Edit

If this is actually happening, put it in the bugs section since it's not the way Karma is supposed to work. --Kris User Hola 18:51, September 27, 2010 (UTC)

The Dark Heart of Blackhall Edit

Good find. I've linked what you found to a couple pages that we already had - namely Constance Blackhall (removing the comment about not knowing who she was), and Obadiah's letter to Marcella which refers to the cut version of the quest. --Kris User Hola 10:02, October 12, 2010 (UTC)

A present for you Edit

Icon cut content
You have been given Cut Content Commando.
Your efforts and diligence have not gone unnoticed, and you have been given a small token of appreciation.
Thanks for seeking out cut content and bringing it to light! --Kris User Hola)

GeriEdit

Another nice find; you've definitely earned those scissors. I moved the section you wrote to the Interactions section instead of Behind the Scenes. --Kris User Hola

Also, be sure to use {{FO3CC}} and {{FO3CC|end}} at the beginning and end of cut content sections of articles. --Kris User Hola 11:42, October 13, 2010 (UTC)

Pink Power Armor Edit

Thanks for pointing out the BoS insignia thing on the Pink Power Armor. I went into the GECK and changed the form list so that it doesn't add the insignia to the armor - I had set up a custom form list (to texture the backpack properly) but neglected to remove the insignia when I did so. I upload a new version of the screenshot which has the helmet and hides the pip-boy as well as not having that insignia. --Kris User Hola 09:28, October 16, 2010 (UTC)

De nada. I was curious to see if it really did have the BoS insignia myself, hence why I found out. The only reasons I could think for it actually having it were... umm... creative, to say the least. -- Yukichigai 10:33, October 16, 2010 (UTC)

Ammo pagesEdit

Hi, adding the base id's to the pages shouldn't be a issue and I may get around to it at some time. The issue is going to be with the traders and adding accurate information, since not all traders offer the same ammo and they change with stock rotation and also I believe the users level. It becomes tricky to add such detailed information into a space restrictive content such as a table. Something like that is best done in a separate section called notable locations where a lot more information can be given, such as exampled here .45-70 Gov't ☣Avatar☣ 21:41, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

.44 magnumEdit

Nice catch there, just checked and as of patch 1.2 it now appears, BUT you forgot to remove the cut content tag from the info box and also the main ammo page. ☣Avatar☣ 02:40, December 17, 2010 (UTC)

Hah, whoops. Well I do most of my edits these days from my iPhone (with UAFaker thanks to Wikia's idiotic non-disable-able mobile site), so navigating is a bit tricky. I miss things sometimes. -- Yukichigai 08:06, December 17, 2010 (UTC)

How exactly do you tie the cut weapon to the DLC? Since, you know, the DLC hasn't been released for PC?--Gothemasticator 01:21, January 17, 2011 (UTC)

Ah. Well, I wonder if that needs to be noted somehow. There's a legitimate question regarding sourcing on the article's talk page.--Gothemasticator 01:26, January 17, 2011 (UTC)
No template on the article page needed. Your note on the talk page is sufficient. Thanks.--Gothemasticator 01:40, January 17, 2011 (UTC)

Moving the Nuka grenade article Edit

Personally I would say yes, but some people here have issues with page names having certain punctuation marks like hyphens and apostrophes (no idea why). The thing is that the page title needs to be as close to the in game name, this is because that is what readers are looking for. For example ED-E (which by the way does have a hyphen 0.o) full name is Eyebot (Duraframe) – Subject E, yet because people will be looking for ED-E, that is what it is named on the Wiki, same goes for AE7 Laser pistol or the Watts 1000 laser pistol and so forth. Honestly there is no solid policy (none that I have seen) on any of it, so I go by the simple rule of thumb, what would a normal reader (someone without the use of the GECK etc.) be looking for. ☣Avatar☣ 04:12, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

I did pay attention, hence why if you re-read what I wrote I said yes in regards to it being moved to Nuka-Grenade, then I went on to explain the situation in regards to punctuation marks and abbreviations (two completely different subjects). But I guess that fell on deaf ears.... ☣Avatar☣ 04:28, February 3, 2011 (UTC)
Dont worry about it, as I said there is no solid policy around here on the subject. Which as you pointed out with Nuka-Grenade not being hyphenated should really be changed, ironic thing is that Nuka-Cola is 0.o So on that merry note I am defiantly going to be moving it over to Nuka-Grenade, since Nuka-Cola has set the president being a item from the very first game. But that will probably have to wait till tomorrow (your not the only one sleepy eyed, which is not a good thing when dealing with associated redirects) ☣Avatar☣ 04:42, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

Cut NCR Ranger Combat ArmorEdit

Hi. On Veteran Ranger you reverted an edit of mine, saying that one of the images (which appears to have been deleted) was a cut design for the armor. I don't see any alternate skins for the Ranger combat armor in the texture files so I am wondering where the assets for this design are located. Thanks. --Cannibalbrane 13:09, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Severus, editor behavior, etc. Edit

I copied and pasted it, lazy though you may see it as, insulting other editors is a bit of a no-no, given that there's rules saying not to do so. Additionally, if, according to Skire, the bugs belong on the Arizona Scavenger page, then transcluding them to the severus page is unnecessary. Richie9999 (talk) 06:47, March 13, 2013 (UTC)

In regards to transclusion, the bugs seem to be related to the quest, not the character, listing them in two places is unnecessary just as mentioning "Tragic the Garnering" being a reference to Magic the gathering on every page where it is mentioned is unnecessary, or listing general FNV vendor bugs on each vendor page when it's a game but. Additionally for this, I see it as a matter of an admin saying it doesn't belong there, but on the scavenger page (which makes sense to me), and editing towards that direction. Richie9999 (talk) 06:54, March 13, 2013 (UTC)

First, you guys are edit warring. So, you shouldn't have re-added these bugs until an agreement was made. However, what Yukichigai is doing, adding bugs to multiple pages, is against the content policy. Maybe you can get permission for a exception this time, otherwise, if you believe the policy is flawed, start a discussion in the forums have the policy changed. Paladin117>>iff bored; 13:34, March 13, 2013 (UTC)

Hi! I see this matter has already been sorted out with a satisfiable outcome. But regarding this: "Did you put these bugs in the Arizona Scavenger article? No? Then you're an asshole." - I would advise you not to insult me ever again. I was intending to move them but something urgent came up that I had to deal with and so I had to leave my computer. When I returned a few minutes later, I had forgotten completely. You should understand that it is purely out of courtesy that you are not already blocked for such a blatant offence. --Skire (talk) 04:02, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

Reverts Edit

I appreciate what you are trying to say, but I didn't consider it a bug, simply noteworthy, it is only implied she should sell those products, in any case the way the 'bug' was written looked like a note, NCR soldiers taking things isn't a bug merly a result of what we are now considering a bug, but is an explanation so granted you've got a case. Look, I don't want to get into an 'edit war' so I'll compromise unless someone higher challenges, just don't get stroppy about it. But hey, respect for standing up for your edit(s), I'll take another look and see if we can meet half-way, if there's still a problem someone else can decide, fair? --Tribal Wisdom (talk) 21:42, September 14, 2013 (UTC)

I think the low-light thing needs to be re-written, can you see my issue though, that it does seem like an oversight, a bug is something that happens when it shouldn't, and technically her goods aren't hers because that's the way it was set. If I put the low-light back using your note/bug (whatever) that should be the equalizer.
The flash bang thing was totally my fault, if I'm honest, I misread what you wrote, that's why I attempted to fix it. I'm glad this has been resolved this smoothly! --Tribal Wisdom (talk) 22:07, September 14, 2013 (UTC)
It might be tedious but maybe it needs to be defined, but that is a good definition but then again as true to life as a game like this can be, it can be subjective for example; why not because it's an NCR barracks the troopers get benefits such as free food/drinks, Lacey's business being predominantly with caravaners, and she says they are tight with their caps implying business is not great at the moment, but why would that be if the troopers have to pay... You see where this is going? I've done the edits, I hope we can leave it there for a while, perhaps tell me if you do go ahead to save discussion via edits, very good points though. --Tribal Wisdom (talk) 22:26, September 14, 2013 (UTC)
To be fair that is the standard definition of a bug, and like the rules about speculation, it's designed to hold back wild theories of what one person wants it to be (that's not aimed at you), but surly some bugs are based on speculation; that we have to assume a reason a lot of the time, but it has to logical, if that makes sense. It's a mix of diplomacy and reason, and I agree with your definition, that things that weren't (though still presuming to some extent) intended by the developers, are technically bugs, but it's how we come to decide those without official verification and who decides otherwise is the current issue, in this case I thought it was appropriate. I know you said you aren't that bothered, but if you did want to start up a forum/blog whatever I would wade in being as fair as possible, whichever way it goes. --Tribal Wisdom (talk) 22:50, September 14, 2013 (UTC)
Hey there, you have rollback rights don't you? You could probably ask to actually have the title "Patroller" on your profile if you wanted, just chucking it out there since you must have been promoted yonks ago before the titles to go with them. See ya'. --Tribal Wisdom (talk) 11:09, September 18, 2013 (UTC)

Throwing / SurvivalEdit

Where did you get the information about the Fo3 cut skill Throwing and Survival replacing it in FNV? I believe it's cut content as your edit from 2 years ago explains on the Throwing page, but the EnclaveBigGuns class only has 2 tagged skills, not 3. The third is now -None-. Probably it once was Throwing but was removed with an update of the game? Can you tell me where you found it in the GECK? I can't anyway. How do you know the skill was incorporated in the G.O.A.T.? And where did you find the AVThrowing identification of the Survival skill? Can't find any GECK reference to it either. Any information/references would be helpful. "Verified" bugs Edit

Greetings - Per your message about the "bug" on the Throwing Spear: Just because a bunch of editors have seen the same thing does not make it a bug. The usual definition of a bug is that it doesn't happen all the time. If you include "unintended or otherwise not by design", you really should have someone from Bethesda confirm it. Otherwise, it is not a bug.DarthOrc (talk) 05:25, September 24, 2013 (UTC)

    • We suggest you look at the definition of a bug used by the Elder Scrolls Wiki. Our reason to object to the "bug" was because the word "will" was used rather than "may". If it is true that it always happens, it is not a bug to most gamers, the game is written that way. (Using "will" when describing a bug can be very misleading as it infers that it will always happen, which would not be true if it is really a bug.)DarthOrc (talk) 04:54, September 25, 2013 (UTC)

Your definition of a bug is a programmer's, ours is a gamer's. This Wiki is supposed to be focused on gamers, not programmers. If it doesn't live up to that, it will continue to decline.DarthOrc (talk) 01:20, September 26, 2013 (UTC)

    • Whatever - you can ignore what we say, in your ivory tower, if that is your choice. One of us has been playing PC video games since the 1980's, (Leisure Suit Larry and the Pulsating Pectorals) the other got his first console at 4. We play on both consoles and PC and have a long-established (and by no means unique) view of what a bug is in a video game. We wish this Wiki well, but if gamers and their perceptions are ignored, the result won't be good.DarthOrc (talk) 01:47, September 26, 2013 (UTC)

Throwing Knife Spear / Loose Cannon Edit

Just because a perk description says it will affect a weapon doesn't mean it always will. If the GECK says it is supposed to be affected by the perk and it isn't working properly THEN it would be considered a bug. Great Mara (talk) 23:14, September 24, 2013 (UTC)

I would suggest both of you to take the discussion to Talk:Throwing knife spear. This way, others can input more easily, as well as having the discussion in a centralised location. --Skire (talk) 00:15, September 25, 2013 (UTC)

What you just stated is completely absurd. If something is set in the GECK to work a certain way and it actually works that way then it isn't a bug, it would only be a bug if it was working contrary to the way it was programmed. Common sense 101. I'll be moving this to the Throwing Knife Spear talk page. And until someone with GECk checks the settings, I'm restoring the page to the way it was. Don't touch it again. Great Mara (talk) 00:18, September 25, 2013 (UTC)
Your background is irrelevant since it does not follow the default setting of the GECK and I have yet to see a single "confirmed by actually checking the GECK coming from your direction, thank you. Great Mara (talk) 00:22, September 25, 2013 (UTC)

Going by this wiki's definition of a bug, it is not one. It is however, notable, so should be mentioned in the "notes" section instead. JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 00:33, September 25, 2013 (UTC)

Just throwing it out there, and I'll stay out of this from now on since an Admin is already involved, but the technical definition(s) for a software bug is stated as such:

a. A defect or difficulty, as in a system or design.
b. A defect in the code or routine of a program.

So that means, that if the programmers specifically did not add the throwing spears introduced in DM into the Loose Cannon perk table, then this is not a bug. Clarification: A misleading perk description is not necessarily a bug. It would only be a bug if the (DM) throwing spears were indeed added into the perk table, but still weren't affected as intended. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 00:37, September 25, 2013 (UTC)

The devs actually forgot to add any of the Dead Money weapons to any of the appropriate lists, not even perk lists but general classification lists, e.g. the automatic rifle is not added to the automatic weapons list, the ranged weapons list, the list which is literally named "Everything" that is meant to contain everything. Throwing knife spears not being on that list is just one part of the huge ball the devs dropped with Dead Money. -- Yukichigai (talk) 00:41, September 25, 2013 (UTC)
Additionally, I would direct you to Talk:Throwing_knife_spear#What_is_and_isn.27t_a_bug for a full explanation of why your assumption is incorrect. -- Yukichigai (talk) 00:43, September 25, 2013 (UTC)
"Forgot"? I would like to see your source for that. It might be obvious. But we are an encyclopedia first, and one doesn't make baseless assumptions on a factual wiki such as ours. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 00:44, September 25, 2013 (UTC)

Loose Cannon Edit

I tend to give off mixed signals, so I wanted to talk to you a bit off of the discussion page. I understand how you might be frustrated here. Especially if, in the end, this does turn out to be a bug. (Which, keep in mind, I'm not necessarily debating.) And while it does annoy me when I see certain declarations from your end, I do respect the fact that you're passionate enough to defend what you believe is right. (Which we need more of, here.)

Just keep in mind that my arguments and final decision regarding this matter have nothing to do with my opinion of you as an editor, and I hope this doesn't dissuade you from further quality edits. I am merely looking out for this wiki as an Administrator, and I do take my role here pretty seriously, as I believe an encyclopedia such as Nukapedia should only consist of simple and hard facts.

I think that's about it. Happy editing, and see you around Nukapedia! ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 03:07, September 25, 2013 (UTC)

I'm gonna go with Great Mara here, I'm afraid. The GECK doesn't have it in the Loose Cannon form list, probably an oversight by the developers to add it. But I don't consider it a bug. Now if the throwing knife spear was in the Loose Cannon form list, and THEN it wouldn't work, then it would be a bug. Now it's not. Now it's a note belonging to the notes section. That's how I see it. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 11:26, September 25, 2013 (UTC)
