Videos Edit

Please do not advertise unrelated videos on file or mainspace pages on the wiki. This wiki is for Fallout, not Dead Space, GTA V, or any other video game series, and content should be kept within the Fallout universe. Also, a simple description is all that is required for a video, it is not necessary to detail the characteristics of the weapon or anything else within the video, that information can be found on the weapons page. Thanks. FollowersApocalypseLogo A Follower  Talk  18:41, February 25, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Explosive Bobblehead Edit

The directions on the WKML page can be clarified but finding the drainage chamber isn't a complicated matter in the slightest and would not require a video to show its location. Simply check the bottom of the cliff at the south end of the WKML station and there it is. Great Mara (talk) 23:08, March 1, 2014 (UTC)

Hi, Thank you for clarifying that there is no general policy against posting videos. That is what I was most worried about. In all honesty, I think I'm in a better position to know whether a video would be helpful. You obviously know this game inside and out, but this is only my second time playing through, and it was my first time attempting to get this Bobblehead. The wiki is written for people like me, and in this case, the directions did not help me find it. The video did. I started taking pictures to post on here so others would know what to look for, because even the description acknowledges that it's difficult to spot, but I figured posting a video link would be simpler. I'll defer to your status here, but at some point, I'll return to the page and try to make the directions clearer.

Cheers, Leon

RE: Unarmed Bobblehead videoEdit

Hi! First of all, wanted to say thank you for taking the time to edit with us. The policy I referred to is here, which states: "Videos may only be used in articles if they illustrate issues which cannot be expressed by written text at all or only with difficulty. Examples for acceptable videos are game trailers or a video illustrating how to find an item which is in a hard-to-find location." The item in question has it's location described well in the article, as it is located in Rockopolis cave on the ground next to Argyle. Neither the cave nor the bobblehead itself are particularly hard to find, so a video walkthrough is unnecessary and appears as clutter to pages these are added to. As such, it unnecessary to have a video showing its location. The video itself was also unprofessional seeming, as it had extra filler that could confuse some users. - Chris 4 Star Dragon Ball Edit 09:08, March 2, 2014 (UTC)

ImagesEdit

Hey, when uploading the image, try to name the image differently. Instead of "Screenshot134.jpg" or somesuch names, try to name them what they represent. Energy X 11:19, March 17, 2014 (UTC)

Cool, thanks for the tip. And for fixing it for me on the Toy Knife page.--Ssleon64 (talk) 19:11, March 17, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for those soundfiles. I've been noticing you lately and you're doing good work. If you want help out more with these soundfiles we still have a few left here. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 16:44, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
You're not stepping on anyone's toes. On the contrary. We need more editors like you working on the content. Now you mention that project page, appears an admin been a bit hasty. My name is checked for a lot of characters, including Madison, but I didn't add those checkmarks myself. You can disregard it mostly and focus on the pages linking to the notable audio project template on your talkpage. You can add a few more to Madion's, if you want, if it's notable. Missing dialogueEdit

It's an oversight! Simply been missed among the hundreds of dialogues. They're in great format, aren't they :) We have user:Теодорико to thank for the conversion. It's a complex bot programming that made it happen, and it sure pays off (check the difference between the original and after the conversion. So much better, all done by bot. You can give it a go with the missing files. I reckon you know your way a bit around the GECK. Go to the dialogue for a character and extract the dialogue file. It places itself in <username>/appdata/local/virtualstore/program files/fallout 3 (check hidden items). Copy it to here in a txt file and add the parameter at the top (bot rewrite, pre) and at the bottom. (category). Good luck. If you can't make it work, let me know, I'll do it. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 00:14, March 19, 2014 (UTC)

Theo will figure it out which dialogue files still need conversion. He only needs to check which pages link to {{Bot rewrite}}. Hoss didn't have the correct parameter; I changed it. I found Harold in the Talking Activator branch. I clicked the Use Info, quest branches (top box) and extracted the Oasis quest related dialogues (MS10, MS10Fin and Oasis dialogue). Platforms Edit

Hey, when you edit please don't capitalize stuff like {{platforms}}. That would be known as an unnecessary edit and might get you in trouble. Thanks. RangerSequoia "Some say this user is a Moderator..." Wiki 02:06, March 24, 2014 (UTC)

Item location edits Edit

Hey there. Please make sure when you're adding locations to item pages that you abide by our rules for capitalization. Some of the locations you added are improperly capitalized, such as on the cherry bomb page. Remember, if it's not a proper noun, it's not capitalized. If you have any questions, please let me know.
