Infoboxes Edit

Thanks for filling out empty infoboxes! However, instead of leaving the "image" field empty, please fill it in with "image=empty". This way the code "[[image:]] won't be displayed. Ausir 05:25, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Also, if the only thing missing from the infobox is the image, please remove the {{Template}} notice, and leave just {{Image}}. Ausir 05:26, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

FOT ammo infoboxes Edit

If the generic ammo infobox isn't appropriate for FOT ammo, it's no problem to either modify it or create a FOT-specific one (depends on how extensive the modifications need to be really). Info at the Vault should be as accurate as possible :-) I never played FOT myself however so it'd be great if you could let me know exactly what needs to be modified in comparison to [[Template:Infobox ammunition]]. -- Porter21 (talk) 01:09, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

I think it's best to simply add extra optional fields to the existing template. Ausir 12:02, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Done. See e.g. .44 magnum ball. Ausir 12:22, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you. Edit

Thank you for marking the Oasis Treasure page. I've just joined this wiki and am new to editing, but could see the page was unecessary. I've also sent the user a message about using proper grammar in their articles.

Re: Navigation BoxEdit

The Fallout and Fallout 2 armor overview pages are still relatively new, which is why the sidebar links to the category pages; we simply forgot to update it when the pages were written :-) I've changed it. -- Porter21 (talk) 17:08, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Why exactly did you revert the edit I made while cleaning up? I removed alot of duplicate info and old infoKingclyde 02:20, 15 May 2009 (UTC)kingclyde

Nice to meet you too. Edit

Thanks for the kind words. Although, a boat would hardly have survived the years of rust and waves since the War. But, there could be a couple nuclear submarines still floating around... Anyway, thanks again. Nitpicker of the Wastes 21:09, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: Thanks Edit

No problem :) Regarding criteria for unmarked locations, I usually go with the location having to have one of the following:

  • Interior location (which is not part of a larger building/complex)
  • Location of rare items such as unique weapons or skill books
  • Something "special" (this is admittedly a bit hazy, but it encompasses locations like the Mole rat race track or Isabella Proud's camp)

-- Porter21 (talk) 07:03, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Question Edit

If you change Template:Navbox weapons FOT, the template will indeed be changed on all pages it is transcluded on (i.e. all pages it appears on). However, the change won't be instantly visible on the pages (it will be instantly visible on the template page itself though) just so you don't wonder. -- Porter21 (talk) 06:29, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

I've removed the weapon and ammo pages from the FOT list. Thanks for letting me know. -- Porter21 (talk) 07:35, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

whoops Edit

did I break something on Vance's longcoat outfit page? Mctaff350 06:03, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Nope! You just removed the FO3 tag that sits on the top right of the page by accident. Everything was fine on the page. Mr. Sully 06:31, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
Oh! I was removing a stub tag, probably a bit of overzealousness on my part :) Thanks!--Mctaff350 06:45, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey, I'm sorry. I'm just a little pent up at the moment. Fat Man Spoon 20:41, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Answer Edit

I sure did, based them off of in-game images. That Furry Bastard 20:58, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Is it just me... Edit

Yeah, it is annoying. Seems like it's now on by default after the editor update, we had it set to "off" by default when they first introduced it. You can turn it off for yourself though (Preferences -> Editing -> Disable Category Tagging). -- Porter21 (talk) 23:50, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Fallout Tactics traps Edit

Well, I guess the easiest thing to do is put them in their own group in the template (and in an extra category). However, I guess in this case it'd be better if you talk to Ausir since I lack the first-hand knowledge about FOT to make qualified judgements :) -- Porter21 (talk) 18:17, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I'd put them in a separate category. Ausir 23:28, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for adding the traps section! Mr. Sully 06:33, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

I think you might be screwedEdit

I have a strong feeling that Grizzly will revert your weapon's page edits(Fuck it i would too.)SO theres a chance it might be a another useless page incident Butter 18:06, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

+Small Guns Edit

That tag is redundant in articles, our readers aren't morons and can tell the difference between a small gun, big gun and energy weapon. 15px-Scribe.jpg Tagaziel (call!) 18:06, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Actually Your wrong on that one.kinda Butter 18:07, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Anyone else smell the stink of an M60? Nitpicker of the Wastes 18:09, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
No thats just the ashes left over from a flame war Butter 18:11, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

If so, then ask Porter21 to modify the weapons template to include a Skill Used field and then add. For now I reverted the changes, as some ruined the flow of article. No hard feelings. 15px-Scribe.jpg Tagaziel (call!) 18:10, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

I've done a bit of digging, and those "appearances and skill used" things are used in most of the Fallout 3 articles, example Chinese assault rifle. Porter himself has added several, including the one on toy knife. Maybe we should have them, if only for consistency. Nitpicker of the Wastes 18:16, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

They are pretty much superfluous, with the GameIcon function and templates. Stating twice is enough. Also, fixed up the template for you just add a "type" field to the weapon template together with the skill name and it will display it in a more proper place in the article. 15px-Scribe.jpg Tagaziel (call!) 18:19, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
I've renamed the field to "skill" for consistency reasons (it's what the other weapon templates use for the equivalent field). I also disagree about the Appearances sections - not all templates have appearances fields, in a lot of them they aren't filled out and the gameicons, while useful, don't tell the whole story. You'll find plenty of weapon pages where the weapon/character/location is just mentioned in a certain game and as a result, gets an entry for that game in Template:Games. Which is misleading if there is no clarification. Mentioning the skill used is more a question of personal style than anything - I always start articles with an introductory sentence which defines the subject of the article (since the introductory sentence is what shows up in searches). As such, the type of weapon is usually part of that. -- Porter21 (talk) 00:00, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you... Edit

... for your kind words =) Nice to hear that some people still thinks that. I hope the issue is solved ASAP so everyone can continue on other things... Youtube1smaller CryonBrion (Talk) 06:51, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Fallout Tactics Cut Content Edit

Hello dear friend =). Yes, I remember well Wasp sting, which can be found on the Beastmasters, but I think we could not use it as a weapon no ? (like the Shiv in Fallout 2).

For Gas trap, I've never seen in the single player, you know where you can find it ? I no longer have the game installed for now, but it's really available in multi ?

For the Smoke grenade, when you say buy, it if it is in the choice of objects at the beginning or you have to buy one of the maps battle with trader ? (I've never seen a trader but I ask you since I can not verify). For this one, I've never seen in the game.

Anyway, it makes me happy to notice this kind of thing and see that people are always watching :). Waiting your news my friend, see soon ! Itachou 10:10, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

Re ^^. So, for Wasp sting is good I arrange everything. By cons, yes, I think you can not equip. Once on my game, I tried to use it for fun but I think I could not. A new verification as you say =).
For Gas trap, I believe you but unfortunately I never laid hands on it (not in my memory at least). So, after you say, it should be between Brahmin Wood and Mardin (Springfield even if we consider the bonus mission). A check also ^^.
For the Smoke grenade, I've never played multi on Gamespy but only in LAN, so I do not know what kind of thing. Only Smoke Grenade exclusively available in this type of multi ? Anyway, I'm sure she was not in LAN.
Sure you were helpful dear friend, that kind of information is known only by a true fan, this proves that you are one =). I accept with pleasure your savegame, because I still have all my Fallout with their cardboard box and I can reinstall them in the blink of an eye.
Thank you in advance for the following and wait for your news, very soon my friend ! Itachou 12:25, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

Hehe, of course dear friend =). My Email is " " ps: You speak a little French =p ? C'est moi qui vous remercie de votre aide mon ami ^^. Itachou [~talk~] 13:49, October 26, 2009 (UTC)
