Welcome back Edit

Good to see you back :)  The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 17:53, March 3, 2013 (UTC)

Theo Edit

It was definitely going to end with him gaining those rights. I was rather looking forward to him proving me a fool after winning by showing the traits that I was seeing as lacking. Thanks for your input. I know I can be a bit overwhelming at times. Although, I do wish he could have handled the criticism a bit better. Have fun with Fallout 3! I just recently got New Vegas through Steam so I could finally play with mods, and I'm absolutely loving it. As soon as I'm finished, I'll be moving on to Fallout 3, too. Alliance Edit

The vote was over and the only option gaining minimum requirements was the Sci-fi alliance. I put in the request to join it. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 19:00, March 16, 2013 (UTC)

I think we'd better come up with some kind of criteria for affiliate wikis. I'm sure tons of wikis would line up to be listed on our main page, mine one of them. we've got links to the sister wikis, both language and game type, but only that one affiliate wiki. I reckon I'll open a forum to discuss what the criteria should be and what the process should be to be named affiliate. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 01:16, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

Votes Edit

This will be a circulating message to all users that expressed their opinions over my recent discussion and vote. Please make sure to update your votes accordingly to this new information:

  • Info-box Mk.II - For those of you wanting to see an example first, an example for how the changes will look (Keep in mind that this example is in its most basic form.) can now be found here. If a positive community consensus is reached, the new design will become functional here and the community can decide from there whether the final design is appropriate or not on Nukapedia.
  • JunkRadio - I would like to share a quote from the JunkRadio designer himself: I was thinking of adding it to the top left or bottom left corner of the wiki. I can give it absolute positioning, which means that it will display on the top left, regardless of screen resolutions. If necessary, I can make it scroll down with the page as well, although this might distract users from reading the actual pages. - Mark van Alphen
    • Thank you for reading, and I'll be looking forward to gathering everyone's final opinion over these new changes. Due to the overwhelming support so far for all three changes, only needing minor points to update them for clarity, the vote will continue as normal, and will end on the 23rd as scheduled. If you would like to dispute this, please leave your concerns and reasons behind them over my talk-page. Happy editing! ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 17:03, March 20, 2013 (UTC)

Request Edit

It's okay - real life comes first, and we're just glad to hear that you're well enough to pop back in here from time to time. Anyways, onto your actual question: the controversial ban was over Gunner linking 'porn' within our chat room. I joined chat shortly before and after this happened, so the way I saw it, it went a little bit like this:

  • Talk over Amanda Todd started. This conversation has been on/off ever since the news broke over her suicide.
  • A heated debate started up over whether she deserved what had happened to her, and whether or not suicide is a viable option in any given situation.
  • At this point, the debate was taking up the chat as the primary topic, and many users were asking who this Amanda Todd even was.
  • Gunner was involved at this point, and was getting a bit too involved in the topic. To the point that when a user directly asked him who Amanda Todd was, he linked the first page that he could find over her. Which happened to show the nude picture of Amanda Todd that started the whole mess behind her suicide.
  • Gunner was eventually banned for linking to child pornography.
    • No, this ban did not happen when he had temporary chat mod rights.

ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 19:30, March 28, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, no, I absolutely agree with that, as does DG. What he did was wrong and illegal over Wikia, and he's suffered for his mistake with a ban and his first botched request attempt. What I meant by blown out of proportion is that he's still hounded over it when he he hasn't done anything similar for quite some time, and has shown to have a lot better judgment than what he had shown that day. Aside from this blackmail detail - but I'm still not basing my vote around it as everything presented over it has been vague or mere hearsay. Forum discussion Edit

Hello Clyde. This is a message I will be rotating among Nukapedia's sysops and regular contributors. I would like your input on this forum. In an attempt to remove redundancy and confusion, I have proposed some tweaks to user rights, including the elimination of the moderator position. Thanks for your time, and let me know if you have any questions. FollowersApocalypseLogonihil novi sub sole 09:20, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

User rights threadEdit

Forwarding this from Gunny's talkpage

Follower's working on a proposal that removes the moderator request. I'm sure you're aware of it. This also made me consider re-evaluating the admin requirement. What do you think of raising that to 1,250 main namespace edits? I've heard people (especially admins) are setting their standards higher and higher before voting yes on admin's requests. We've noticed it with Theo. And another thing Hal10k and KristofferAG are long eligible for removal of rights. I suggest we do that. They are inactive for more than a year. At the moment the inactive period for removal of rights is 9 months. What do you say we suggest upping that to a year? I think 9 months is too short after all. And then we have GhostAvatar. What do we do about him? I suggest we contact him in a while what his plans are. In any case, we should not remove his rights after 9 months in my opinion. That's too soon. A year, then ask Wikia to remove it, if he decides not to return or not answer our mail. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 19:18, April 5, 2013 (UTC)

Notices tab Edit

Clyde, I'm not sure if you might remember this or not, but before Gav left, we were working on some javascript to add a "Notices" tab to user pages. Here's what it was all about:

  • It would be placed next to "contributions" on each user's page that only admins, chat mods and patrollers would see.
  • It would link to a special page where official warnings and notices were to be placed.
  • It would only be editable by admins, chat mods and patrollers.
  • It was intended to replace the "No deleting talk page messages rule" by having a place where all official notifications could be permanently stored in an easy to find place.

  • All official notices will be on one page, easy to find.
  • No need for the controversial "No deleting talk page messages" rule.
  • It's hidden and only accessible to admins, chat mods and patrollers.

  • Anyone can see the edits in RC, and if you type in the url, you can read the notices. They won't be able to edit it, but they will be able to read it.
  • It would require the admin, chat mod or patroller to leave a message on the user's talk page so the user can get the alert and read the message, and then they would have to copy the same message to the notices page for permanent storage.

I've tested the script and it's ready to test on a wider basis. You can do this by copying the script into your own common.js, if you'd like. I would like to proceed with testing this along these lines:

  1. Have you and Js, and any admins who are interested in looking at it test it in their own .js.
  2. Move it into the site .js for a site-wide test.
  3. Bring up discussion after testing is complete to see if the community wants to revoke the talk page rule and move to this method.

Let me know when/if you want to move forward with this. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 01:50, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

Whatnot Edit

You wouldn't happen to have a form of contact that I could take advantage of? I have a few matters that I want to discuss with the bureaucrats, and I would be interested in hearing your opinions. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 00:38, April 9, 2013 (UTC)

Auto refresh Edit

There's a checkbox right next to where it says "Admin Dashboard", labeled auto-refresh. Make sure the box is checked. I've stopped using it because of the lag when the script runs the refresh, but I just checked it and it seems to be working. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 19:39, April 30, 2013 (UTC)

I think it's a javascript that makes it refresh automatically. Try MediaWiki:Common.js, search for automatic and you will have found it. Add that part to the common.js over at the WWII wiki. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 22:28, April 30, 2013 (UTC)

GECK changes from anonEdit

Hey Clyde, you just had some discussion with an anonymous user about Karma changes on several pages. I just dug into the matter myself checking the GECK and I think he's right. These characters don't use what's directly visible, but another template as he explains on his talkpage. Never really dug into it myself until today so I wasn't aware. Killing Torcher (listed neutral) gives a finger with the Lawbringer perk, so that must mean he is evil and not neutral. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 00:33, May 5, 2013 (UTC)

CSS to look at Edit

Hey, Clyde, I had a suggestion from User:Pecoes to add a slightly different hue every other line on long tables to break up the look and make them less a strain to read. I've applied his fix as a separate class, va-table-shaded to look at it. You can see it on Fallout:_New_Vegas_perks, one of the pages he sited as a problem. We can't use it on all tables, since it will interfere with highlighting (e.g. Fallout 3 weapons), but I thought we'd look at it and see what we thought. Let me know if you think it helps or hurts table reading. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 00:56, May 8, 2013 (UTC)

User rights removal Edit

Howdy, Clyde. The user rights removal process says:"In the event that an administrator or moderator has been inactive for an extended period of time, they will have their user rights removed by the bureaucrats and restored by a community vote upon a return to constructive editing." What we've been doing is leaving a message on the person's talk page to ask their intentions. The rule doesn't really leave us that wiggle room, it just says their rights will be removed. How should we handle this when we leave the message after a user has been inactive for 9 months, yet they say they intend to still use their rights? Does leaving the return message count as an "edit", resetting the clock for another 9 months? Or should we just enforce the letter of the rule and remove the rights without asking their intentions? I'm also leaving this for Js. Let me know what you think. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 17:52, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

It occured last night, and I only informed Gunny and J as they're here all the time, and your visits are somewhat sparodic. No offence meant. Agent c (talk) 19:49, May 17, 2013 (UTC)
Clyde, I base my opinion on you not being here all the time not just based on chat, but how often I see your name come up in the recent changes. I dont consider me adding a news item based an event that happened 20 odd hours ago a crisis that demands the attention of 3 bureaucrats, instead I wanted to discuss the situation with a couple of members of the admin team I've worked reasonably closely with and who I often sound out things with. I'm sorry if this offends you.
As for fitness of being a 'Crat or not... I'm tired of that game and aren't going to play.

Chat logs sent.  The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 20:23, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

Clyde the "game" I am tired of goes directly to your "Fitness" comment. it seems anytime anyone gets into anything more than a minor disagreement with you this comes up, on occasion leading you threatening to quit. That game I am not playing - Lead, Follow, get out of the way, the choice is yours but I am not playing.

I talk to Gunny fairly frequently because I value his advice - as a person and as a fellow member of the admin team. I think we have a pretty good working relationship. When it comes to inter-user issues I especially value his input, and he has on occasion been able to calm me down when I'm off on a crusade - IIRC we talked about this kind of stuff before he wore that hat - I trust him to be able to tell me I'm going too far - this doesn't come from his bureaucrat title.

J I often sound out about advice on wiki matters to - again not as a bureaucrat but as a fellow admin who I know is good for advice. I know J reads my news, often corrects and comments on it. I value his opinion as a person who I have worked with, and as a fellow admin as to what should go there. I trust his judgement there as an individual - this doesn't come from his bureaucrat title.

You need to stop taking this sort of stuff and personalising it. This song isn't about you, it isn't a royal snub. I wanted advice from two people I trust to give me that advice. That they happen to be Bureaucrats is completely secondary.

If you want that kind of relationship with me, where I go to you for advice on something, without your bureaucrat hat on, you'll need to work on that with me; not just simply demand it. Agent c (talk) 20:49, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

Clyde, I wasn't referring to when you stepped back for those health reasons. I'm talking about all those times last year when you threatened to leave after having an argument. As for you being notified about it, I was notified after the fact. There were admins, chatmods, and a bureaucrat in chat. Go take it up with them.

As for what is one more page? TBH I don't consider me trying do decide if I'm going to run something in the news about an event that happened 20 hours ago something that needs to be widely circulated. There were two specific people who I wanted advice from, so I sought them. I didn't copy in a lot of other people either. Agent c (talk) 21:28, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

Infobox errorsEdit

Probably you can't respond, but to keep you informed, did you notice we have an infobox error where images are messing up the infobox? Something went wrong with Wednesday's update. Wikia is taking a look it at, but they say it's complex problem because of the complicated infobox template we use. I want to give it some more time, and contact Wikia tomorrow on the progress. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 21:34, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

Infobox image problem Edit

I've moved all discussion of the infobox template image issue to Forum:Infobox_image_size_problem so the conversation can occur in one place. You can see my recent findings there. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 17:05, May 18, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, the images that are over 240px are sized down again, but now we have a problem with images smaller than 240px. Making an edit on these pages (primarily older games) displays the image in 240px, while the original is smaller. Try Home-made rifle for example. So the problem has moved. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 21:14, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

E-mail Edit

Oh, I just reminded myself. A while back, I had asked if there was a way that I could contact you personally. I haven't heard from him at all since his last edit. Well, maybe he'll return here or on the Vault when Fallout 4 hits and he can have fun with new weapon images. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 21:52, May 30, 2013 (UTC)

Skill navboxEdit

FOBOS has a skill navbox, but here the skills work like perks, not skills. You can read in on the FOBOS skills page. So many points and you can pick a certain skill (or perk). The other games' skills derive from other stats and skillbooks, a different system. You can't really use a navbox for that. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 21:42, May 31, 2013 (UTC)

Infobox errors Edit

I was adding crit damage perk effects to the {{Infobox weapon gamebryo}} when I realized that the math showing the total effect of all perks on the modified stats (the ones shown in parenthesis labeled "with all perks") is incorrect. Here's the jist:

Weapon Base damage
.357 magnum revolver 26
Perk Multiplier
Cowboy perk +25% x1.25
Lord Death (tier 3) +4% x1.04
Bloody Mess +5% x1.05
Thought you died +10% x1.1
Current infobox formula Total dam w/all perks
26+(26*.25)+(26*.04)+(26*.05)+(26*.1) 37.2
Correct formula Total dam w/all perks
26*1.25*1.04*1.05*1.1 39.04

The infobox is written so that it adds the individual perk bonuses to the base damage, when the game actually multiplies all the perk bonuses times the base damage. I've tested this in the past. I've completely deconstructed the whole damage formula (you can see it [[User:The_Gunny/sandbox#Full_damage_formula|here]]) and have actually written a damage calculator that outputs any weapon's damage given any combination of gameplay effects (perks, ammo, mods, chems, etc.). During testing of my calculator, I verified that all the perks "stack", or multiply together.

I also believe that other perk types like reload speed, etc. also multiply in the same way. I will test those to be certain, I'll probably have to re-write the entire perk section of the infobox. I will work it in my sandbox to correct the math so that it uses the proper formulas. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 01:02, June 5, 2013 (UTC)

Infobox problem v23.19.2 Edit

Sides to all issues Edit

Geck has its place. It can be fun. Still if you can not meet the person spoken of then it would make a weak page.

  • This dramma has had more impact than that lame mention from a terminal at the school ever would.

I understand he is not an annon & I have even embraced the warm fuzzy of annons are people to ~;P

Folks who spend time with me here get the fact that I neither mean harm or even sport for a fight.

The page is just weak unworthy. Do I really need to look up the pages I worked on for months... The lovers Marks I searched for day after day when Dead Money came out.

  • That is a now just a tag on to hollow rocks.

I am just say'n his post, that guy made is not page worthy.. 99.9% of his posts might fart sunshine & lolly pops.

However the page we speak of is better reverted to a note on the terminal of the Springvale school.

It is trivial. The character never appears in the game unless the player uses a code to them. .. It is a foot note & that is all.

Slinger anon Edit

I was merely following guidelines. His first ban was for 3 days by Gunny. His second ban earned him a week. And I actually deviated a bit with his third ban, and only made it two weeks instead of the month I should have given him. I recommend reinstating the 1-week ban at minimum. This user has been a disruption ever since his account was globally banned. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 07:02, July 31, 2013 (UTC)

Werewolf Edit

Nitty's ban was removed by Itachou for being unwarranted and being made in retaliation due to off-wiki events. Then, when Nitty came in long after and made another ban even though Werewolf hadn't made a single edit in over two months. That's why the ban was lifted. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 07:04, July 31, 2013 (UTC)

I know. I've been here for a long time, and I'm quite familiar with Werewolf. I remember him being banned for words being exchanged on the Eleventy wiki, and like I said, Werewolf was banned long after even though he hadn't made an edit in over two months. But I doubt he's coming back, and it's been so long since that's happened that no one involved is even around anymore. So I'll just let that one go. Colour Palette Edit

Due to the lack of community feedback involved with the style switcher feature I've recently proposed, in stark contrast to the high popularity it has received for making a presence here at Nukapedia, I would like to take this chance to ask the Bureaucrats to discuss and decide upon the 3 different colour blends we'd be using should the feature pass in the community vote. Right now, it appears that the green/brownish-gold blend used as Example 2 in my forum is decently liked. I'll be looking forward to what you guys comes up with, and I'll have the community vote thrown up as soon as we get our choices in. Thanks in advance. Happy holidaysEdit

Hey, Clyde! Due to a recent topic I brought up in which I hope to start setting a precedent soon, I'm going ahead and asking those with special rights that have become fairly or entirely inactive throughout the past year if they plan on either stepping down, or becoming active again sometime in the near future. In your particular case, I have noticed that you still have days where you'll edit, but then there are many times where you're not able to address important topics or use your Bureaucratic abilities to moderate or settle disputes. So what we were wondering is if you'd be more interested in holding onto your Administrator rights until a time comes where you are comfortable once again for the Bureaucratic tools.

I do want to make one thing clear: I appreciate everything that you've done for us, and I'm not trying to depreciate your work by asking for your intentions. It is my hope that you won't take offense at my request; a few of us are simply looking at the growing number of inactive Special Rights holders, and we are looking to bring that number down some so we have a clearer picture of what our wiki needs in expertise, as well as keeping our Special Rights list as concise as possible for editors looking for help from their Administration.

Hope to hear back from you soon, Clyde. Until then, have yourself a wonderful New Year and we'll be looking forward to the time in which you're able to return to Nukapedia. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 23:15, January 1, 2014 (UTC)

About the about pageEdit

Hi, After recent discussion on the topic of our about page, I've opened up a section on the About page at Fallout_Wiki_talk:About under Revamp. I'd love nominations for other notable users we can feature in this page, as well as any other ideas. Agent c (talk) (via the courier)

Chat Edit

Any chance we could meet in chat? ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 03:12, January 11, 2014 (UTC)

Note: Please keep in mind before reading on that this message has nothing to do with the prior inactivity message I sent to you a few days back, as that message was sent out to all largely inactive Special Rights holders in compliance with a forum that we're (myself | Danny | 69) trying to move forward. The prior message was merely a formality, and won't play any part in why I'm messaging you now.

I'll go ahead and and cut straight to the point first, and then I'll explain my reasons afterwards: many of us in the community have noticed your extended absence, and I'd like to ask if you'd step back down to the Administrator rights, until the time comes where you can once again become active enough to respect the leadership position that being a Bureaucrat entitles. Most of the concern being brought up by the community is your inactivity, which has persisted for nearly two years now during a time when leadership is needed to help get this wiki ready for the next Fallout title. And while that is the primary concern which has led up to this message, I am also taking into account other incidents that add onto the inactivity.

-It is commonplace around the wiki for debates and arguments to arise, and a lot of times, these discussions tend to get heated. Many of us are able to resolve our differences, and some of us even take some time off to cool down. But what concerns me in your case is that you have threatened to leave this wiki multiple times after arguments with other editors (not just an editor).

  • And working off of this concern, there are times when you take your frustrations out on the wiki after an argument, with an example seen through this edit.
  • And my last concern on this topic is that you have a tendency to take matters way too personally. Every counter-argument seems to set you off, and it ends up disrupting the topics you're a part of. And it doesn't just stop there: you then go off into chat, where you have the tendency to, to put a fine point on it, viciously attack the person you were arguing with. Everyone vents in chat, but as a Bureaucrat, you are held to a higher standard. And even without taking that into account, you take your venting too far by personally attacking other users while they're not around to see it.

-As a Bureaucrat, the community relies on you to fulfill a leadership position, and this comes with the responsibility of regularly checking through forums and votes - especially votes that are deemed important, and are referred to you through your talk-page. Unfortunately, over the past year, your attendance on these forums has grown increasingly distant, until now, where we almost never hear a peep from you on forums and votes even during the times where you come back to edit a bit.

  • This, along with the fact that you haven't even used your rights to patrol edits, moderate the chat, or even use your tools to block vandals and undesirables, shows that you haven't had a need for the Bureaucratic tools, nor have you been willing to fulfill your Bureaucratic expectations.

I do understand that you have been having real-world issues, and the time that you have to devote towards Wikia has become sparce due to those issues. I can definitely sympathize with that, but at the same time, it also opens up questions into how well you can serve our wiki as a Bureaucrat when you don't the time to remain an active, diligent presence. I can't speak for everyone else, but I, personally, still have faith in the abilities of yours that I saw from before and right after the split, and I'm hoping that one day you will be able to return with that work-ethic again - which is why I am only wanting you to step down to an Administrator position for now. It is for the reasons above, however, that we feel the need to put forth a motion of no confidence, with one of the options being to step down from your Bureaucratic rights. But I do need to be clear in that we feel very strongly towards this issue, and this motion already has its necessary initiators per policy and we are planning to go ahead with it should you choose not to step down. It is because of this that it would perhaps be best for everyone if you could write a statement of defense, which we are hoping for by the 16th ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 21:47, January 12, 2014 (UTC)

  • "So because I don't hop into chat and sit there because I don't live in my mom's basement or what not and have the ability to stay there all day that means I'm inactive right and I don't have the respect needed for bureaucrat position? Bullshit Leon."
    • I never said anything about chat. I said you're mostly inactive, with less than 600 total edits throughout 2013-2014, with even less of those being article-edits. Although, all together, you are also almost never in chat, your patrol-logs are nearly non-existent, and the link I provided earlier shows you haven't even blocked anyone except 1 person in the past 5-6 months.
  • "Maybe you need to check my contributions because I have not been wholly inactive for two years."
    • Never said you were wholly inactive. But you have been mostly inactive.
  • "Such as?"
    • I had clearly stated them afterwards, as you're even seen addressing them.
  • "I like how you chose an edit from your co-conspirator to get me out of here. Just a side note. But I still see your point."
    • I fail to see how this is a conspiracy when I'm here openly asking you to step down. Either way, we have legitimate concerns. I'm sorry if you fail to see them as we do.
  • "Because you of all people come across very poorly and to be very blunt and honest, as an snarky opinionated self righteous person. You have a tendency to talk down to people. I've explained to you before that that upset people and it sets me off but yet you still do it. And you have the balls to tell me I take things to personally. You are the only I do that with."
    • This is a perfect example. Almost everyone in our community has noted your inactivity, which has led up to this conversation. I am expressing our concerns, and you choose to ignore it by putting the focus on me, instead of addressing our concerns properly. I even said I have faith in your editing skills, and I personally only want you to step down to Admin. But you're still taking this personally, as if I'm out to get you or something.
  • "That's cute. I don't go into chat and vent. As you know, I'm like never there. But I do hear that you and other vent regularly about me and the other bc's in chat. But again it's hearsay so I can't be sure."
    • Clyde... I'm trying to be civil in this, but you just lied to me. I have about 6 pages of chat logs showing otherwise.
  • "I stop at the forums first every day. If the things people are saying I agree with, then I won't add anything. If I disagree I'll add something. An admin request or something like that I obviously have to be out of it. When it come to finalizing things I communicate with J and Gunny and now Chad via email."
    • We need a public figure. Not a Bureaucrat that only makes decisions from the shadows, and through other Bureaucrats. And as for stopping by forums daily, I just don't see it. You do provide feedback for some forums and votes, but most of them you miss.
  • "Actually I do patrol edits, granted I haven't blocked people or moderated chat as there are people that are better suited to moderate chat (ie those who are in there all the time) and if I see a bad edit, if I do get the chance to revert the block is done before I get to. But no matter."
    • Your patrol-log is empty, and you've only blocked one person in the past 5-6 months. As for reverts, even those are small in number, as you've made less then 300 article-edits since 2013-2014.
  • "Here is how I see things Leon, you and I have not gotten along no matter how many time I've tried to look past things but how you act towards others and myself is what gets at me. That's why I get upset and "take things personally" with you. And the fact that I have this new guy (69) who has been here for less than a year and is already wanting to purge house along with Danny? This wiki is the only wiki I have ever encountered such a silly thing on. What and who is it hurting that I am in active for a week or so as a bc. Here is the difference between me and a majority of the people who probably want to get rid of me. I work at job that is not an internet job 50 hours a week. Most of the people that sit in chat either work at an office where they can have chat running in the background thus giving the appearance of being in chat all the time and thus being an "active" member of the wiki, they have an internet job or they have no job and live at home with a active internet connection. But here is my final result as you are really pushing for this and it seems really personal on your end. I am not stepping down and will take my chances with a reconfirmation request. I have done a lot for this wiki over the years to be stomped on like this by you Leon or anyone."
    • What hurts us is that we put a lot of emphasis at this wiki on Bureaucrats being our leaders. Over the past 2 years, you have hardly edited, blocked users, patrolled edits, gone into chat, taken advantage of community features, check with most or all important forums discussions, help finalize votes, or even introduce new innovative features here at Nukapedia. What it shows is that you are not using your Bureaucratic tools, and you no longer need them right now. And especially since we have a weird superstition here where 3 Bureaucrats is the magic number, having an inactive Bureaucrat hurts us even further. And we do appreciate your work. We are grateful as hell, but we do not owe you. This wiki is not about you, and your past accomplishments should not and will not supersede present accomplishments. The same goes for me, and everyone else here, as this wiki is about the information, and not the editor.

Are you willing to provide us with a defense statement, then? ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 00:31, January 13, 2014 (UTC)

Clyde, I'm not trying to "purge house," or anything like that. What I really want is to just bump you down to administrator for a period of time, which would reduce the activity obligation bureaucrats have (in my opinion), and ease of burden of needing to constantly check up on this place amidst your busy work schedule. None of this precludes the possibility of reapplication in the future. And I'll admit it Clyde, I can fully understand that it might be annoying for some random teenager who started editing on the wiki only two years ago to be trying to remove you, a veteran with a long list of respectable contributions. I myself am facing a more intense workload as a student, and sometimes I find the need to continuously check up on here and patrol the RC, join discussions, vote, and maybe moderate chat, tiring. After all, our real lives must come first. I genuinely believe it would be better for you to take the administrator position at least for now... --Skire (talk) 00:55, January 13, 2014 (UTC)

  • "At this point Leon I want you to be out right and honest for once and in your life with me, you want me out of the admin business don't you. This is the only reason you are making up these lies about me."
    • I want you to step down to the Administrator position, so you're not seen as a leader when you haven't been much of one for 2 years now. I do not want you gone. I do not want to remove your rights entirely. I have never lied on this wiki before, and I'm not going to start now when I've already been this forward with you. However, I'll admit that your responses to me leaves a lot to be desired.
  • "So I'm a liar now? What do you have a spy cam in my house? This is why you are arrogant and I dislike talking to you about most things. Think think you know everything there is to know. You are never wrong and you assume to much. Right now you are assuming that I never look at the forums even though I do. You need to wake up and realize you are not the only one that is right."
    • On this point, I never called you a liar. What I said is that I never see you going through forums daily. You almost never contribute to them, so how in the world would anybody in the community know you're keeping a constant eye out? So I'm not making any assumptions here. I'm making observations. Observations that are not just my own.
  • "I'm not ignoring the facts, I'm pointing out why I have an issue with you telling me I always take things to personally. That's how you start things. Always. Every conversation you start with me is in a snarky self righteous manner which talks down to me. That is disrespectful. If you want to turn that into me not noticing facts and you not acknowledging your faults so be it."
    • You do. That is a fact. You can try putting this on me all you want, but I've never used the edit summary tool to say fuck the wiki. I've never used chat to viciously attack people I disagree with and essentially call them worthless human beings. I've never antagonized anonymous users to create an account, even though they don't have to. I've never threatened to leave over arguments with other editors. I've never told anybody here that they're trolls or assholes because of an argument. So yes, you do take things way too personally here.
  • "Modifying numbers for your own purposes? Check again."
    • Clyde. You have made only around 600 article-edits since Jan of 2012. Since 2013-2014, you've only made around 600-700 edits total. Not even article-edits. And even the few article-edits you have made, are exceedingly small, with few ever exceeding 100 bytes. You cannot deny this. I have your contributions list in front of me.
  • "Again, bullshit Leon."
    • Your patrol-log is empty. I gave you the evidence link in my first message proving you've only blocked one editor in 5-6 months. And as revealed in your contributions, your edits have been miniscule.
  • "I never said anyone owed me anything, what I did say is that I will not get bullied out by someone like you which you are seriously trying hard to do. I would rather face down a reconfirmation request that be bullied by you."
    • I'm sorry you see it as bullying. But I'll reiterate: I don't think you're the leader that being a Bureaucrat requires. Should you ever return to active editing, then I'm sure you could get your rights back. But for now, you simply don't use your rights much.
  • "When the time comes, I will. Not before. I will speak no more on this as my blood pressure is rising."
    • Alright, well, the forum will be put up tomorrow, then, and the poll will be post-poned until either the defense statement comes, or the 16th.

Forum Edit

The community discussed the poll options a bit, and it seems the general community tone was in support of this option over the others presented.

I do want to make this vote as fair as possible. Is this option fine with you? Or are there possible mends we can make before the vote goes up? 16:55, January 20, 2014 (UTC)

Alright, great. And while on the topic of mends, I do want to make amends for the patrol-log claim I made. I have no idea how I came to that final conclusion, but it looks like I was looking at mine. I'm the only Admin I can find that has an empty patrol-log, so the only thing I can think of is that I was looking at mine (never saw the need for them - I just follow pages and have them send me an E-Mail if they're edited). Dialogue files progressEdit

I've created 9 FNV dialogue export files, for the characters with the most lines. When they are created, they get a name DialogueExport<name character>.txt. I suggest we leave the DialogueExport out for the name we're gonna use. You can see the results and naming in Category:Fallout: New Vegas dialogue files. Theo asked me a complete export so that's what I did. He then uses his bot with this as result, for Caesar. I've done extensive research on which columns we need and come up with User:Jspoelstra/sandbox1. It's similar to what TV has. I'm going to ask Theo to put these 9 files into tables and see how it looks. Possibly one column can be removed and one merged, first I'd like to see how things look. In the meantime I'll take a look at a fitting infobox. If you have a remark, let me know. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 22:05, January 25, 2014 (UTC)

Chat botEdit

The chat bot is back up. As a related note to that, I do want to mention that I'd seen a number of people using the chat logs in a way I never intended them, and in a way I will never support. That is using them to essentially spy on what's said in chat. There was even someone off wiki who was spying in on chat by using them. When I created that tool, it was with the intent that it would help us moderate chat and give us a tool to easily provide logs when our moderators need to act on the rules. I was clear that it was not intended as a tool to go through the logs and retroactively sanction users when mods weren't active. I also refuse to see it used to spy on chat. If this continues, I will either change the way it logs so it writes the logs offsite (which I now have the capability to do), or I will simply cease using it. I'm letting you guys know publicly so my intentions are clear to everyone. The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons 20:40, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

Patroller rightsEdit

I hereby would like to officially inform you that you can remove my patroller rights. I would like to thank you for my time over here and the trust that has been put in me all the time I have been here as special rightsholder. I will most probably leave the wikia, but I may jump in chat from time to time.
Yours sincerely,

Peace'n Hugs

I am faced with some major problems in real life I have to take care off. I think time has reached a new critical fase for me, and I have to move active in a continuous battle to counter them. The problems I'm facing are prety serious, thus my countermeasure against them should also be big. For now, I want to pour into my efforts everything I have; all of my free time, and giving up all the stuff I like. I think time has come for me to get out of the cosy life I was living and try to achieve what I think I should be able to achieve. Sadly I think this means that there is no longer time for me to entertain wishful dreams and illusions of doing the things I like, this wikia for example. I will just have to give some things up, and the sooner I act, the better, I think. My current plans are to work on the targets, I put myself, for 16 hours per day. Count above that eating, showering and sleeping, and it's prety clear there isn't too much time left. My aim is to keep this up for 7 months. I don't believe I have to power within me to do this, yet at least I want to try. I'm also aware that some people on the wikia take offense to people not being very active, yet holding priviliges. That easened the choice for me to let go of the position I have now on the wikia, since I want to get rid of the idea that there would be pressure on me to proove I'm active enough to "deserve" my privileges, or face all kinds of stuff against me. I think it's easier for all of us to just let things go, and get back here when I can. I hope I'll jump in here with you from time to time, since I can't imagine that I have the strength in me to do what I am trying to make myself do. I hope I'll see everyone still around here when I get back, and I wish everyone and this wikia nothing but the best.

Peace'n Hugs

Last update: we will be starting (so far Chad and Gunny) in 15 minutes. Redirects Edit

Thanks, that's fine, I've tried not to be too gung-ho about it, especially with so many upper and lower caps of the same thing; "Overclocked Turret" and "Overclocked turret" for example. I'll make sure I'm sure next time. Thanks again! --TribalWisdom(colour) Talk! 02:41, March 5, 2014 (UTC)

Hi again, I think it could do with going, if not just for the same reason as not having "Automated Turret" over or as well as "Automated turret", they both redirect and upper caps versions appear first more often than not (including "Overclocked Turret") on the auto-complete, given "turret" shouldn't be upper anyway it's probably not best to encourage it (for example there is no "Sniper Rifle" and we aren't accommodating for those who wish to force it to be that way). --TribalWisdom(colour) Talk! 18:27, March 5, 2014 (UTC)

Our stance on the Fallout 2 restoration projectEdit

Clyde, do you know some of our wiki stance and history on the Fallout 2 restoration project? Theo asked me here. It seems to me that very little of it is mentioned here and what is mentioned, is treated as cut content. Looks to me we see it as a mod and don't cover it. I did check it on NMA and it's interesting content. But on the other hand, there are many version updates which would alter our content much. What do you think of it? Whatcha think?Edit

I played around with a few tiny tweeks to the portal section template in my [[User:The_Gunny/sandbox2|sandbox]]. Just a little bit different look. Was wondering what you thought? Nothing major, but just something to give them a slightly different look and make them stand out as different than the other content pages. Sorry, I didn't see your message. What you're seeing there is just the content scrunched up because my sandbox is not in the portal space, so the right rail is showing. This does not happen on the portal pages. If you have a wide enough monitor and use a full width window to view it, it will look normal in my sandbox. I've checked the changes using my personal css and they look fine, no rendering problems. The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons 16:10, March 15, 2014 (UTC)

Skill booksEdit

I can go along with removing the italicizing again. Wasn't really in favor of it to begin with. But as I remember it, most of the people agreed when it was discussed (can't find where anymore), that we should follow wikipedia guidelines for books. Guess we can use the argument it's not used as a book, but consumable. 18:34, March 12, 2014 (UTC)Jspoel Speech Jspoel

We're talking about books that happen to be consumables; they're even referenced as books in-game. Lucy West's parents are both activators-- not characters, but we speak of them like people because the GECK is technical and functional; it doesn't always give the best description for things.
And they don't have to be existing works of art to be capitalized; if you read about a fictional book in a book, its title is italicized. 69.l25 (talk) 19:58, March 12, 2014 (UTC)
The Big Book of Science, as an example, is over 900 pages, which is not a short story. 69.l25 (talk) 20:05, March 12, 2014 (UTC)
Cannot get too involved at the moment, but I wanted to help elaborate on one of your questions: if you ask J, I asked him to upload an image of the blackboard found in the Vault 101 classroom. On that blackboard were some of the subjects being taught, in which it stated which pages to read out of the Big Book of Science. I believe that is where 69 is getting that number from. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 20:49, March 12, 2014 (UTC)
That's exactly where I'm getting it from: the game shows that it is a book with pages and content in this example. Lucky Charms is a cereal. The Big Book of Science is a book. If we went purely on GECK classifications, Lucy's parents would be activators, Neil would be evil in-game, The Surgeon, who implanted chips in ghouls and build up his or her own lab would be an idiot (intelligence of three). A GECK consumable is merely a technical classification that easily allows the player to use an in-game item. 69.l25 (talk) 20:55, March 12, 2014 (UTC)

"Consumable" is a word used by the GECK from a technical aspect. The meaning behind it is not the same as saying Lucky Charms is a "consumable."

In fact, the GECK actually classifies The Big Book of Science as a book; just look under "Form Type." One variant's description is literally "This is a book." 69.l25 (talk) 21:10, March 12, 2014 (UTC)

Heck, it's never classified as a "consumable." It's an "item" and "book." 69.l25 (talk) 21:12, March 12, 2014 (UTC)

I've been thinking for a while about making a few changes to the forums. First, I'm not happy that when the forum archives were implemented that they were all grouped into one single archive, not an archive for each individual forum sub. That makes it hard as heck to search old forums. Also, some time ago, I figured out a way to make "pinned" forum threads, ones that will stay at the very top of the forum list. Since both of these use a simple change in the forum category the forum is in, and that forum category is added to the forum from the forum header template, I was thinking about changing the forum header template to add support for both these features. I can make the template add a forum to the "pinned" category, or to an "archived" category for each individual sub-forum, then create a forum list on each specific sub-forum to list these.

Making the changes to the forum header template to add the categories is no big deal. Making the changes to the individual forums themselves would require adding one parameter |archived or |pinned to each. That's there the sticky part is. Since all the archived forums were moved by placing the {{Archivedforum}} template on them, replacing the old forum header template, we'd have to go back through all of the old archived forums, figure out which forum they used to belong to, and change them back with the added |archived parameter.

The benefits of making these changes are:

  • All old archived forums will be placed in the forum list at the bottom of each sub-forum that originally came from.
  • All new forums that need to archived only need to have the parameter |archived added to the exisiting forum header template to archive them.
  • We would be able to "pin" important forums to the top of the forum list in any given forum simply by adding the parameter |pinned to the existing forum header.

The downside?

  • We'll have to go back through all the archived forums, figure out which forum they used to be in and change them back including the parameter |archived. We'll flood rc with edits on old forums, but this time, those edits won't "bump" the archived forums up on the forum list.

Let me know what you think. This will take a bit of work to get done properly, so I wanted some input first. The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons 18:54, March 18, 2014 (UTC)

OK. I made the changes to the forum templates. Take a look at Forum:Wiki_proposals_and_applications and see if you like it. Pinned threads (when we have them) will always appear at the top of the forum list, and the link to the archive for that forum is at the bottom of the forum list. We'll create a separate forum for each archive (this will keep the old ones "hidden" a bit. All I have to do is create the other archive forums and the associated categories. Look ok? The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons 01:02, March 19, 2014 (UTC)
All the changes to the forums, forum templates and new categories are done. We'll need to start moving the archived forums back to the proper categories. I will write up a forum on the DB with instructions so everyone knows how to do this correctly and hope to get some help. Be advised: there are some empty categories. Eventually, all the archived categories will be populated, but the "pinned" forum categories will not be until we "pin" some forums. Please do not delete any of these empty categories, I'd rather have them set up now and ready for content than have to remember how to set them up later on when we actually "pin" something. The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons 15:45, March 19, 2014 (UTC)

EvoB Edit

About my contributions to the Fallout 3 non-player weapons lists, me and several friends have been going through console commands and several different ID's that we find here and there. If an item or a weapon comes up and we find out that it was never put on one of the lists on the Wiki, I just get all the values and info that I can and fill them in so that others can find out what it is. Before I put ANYTHING on the lists, I always check up online to see if the info is valid from sources and portions of coding for the game. If things match up and are correct, I just fill in the info and recommend that, if anyone finds any discontinuities within ID's or values that are wrong, they can change it as much as they please as long as it is correct according to sources such as the G.E.C.K. or found online. If there is something you want me to change about the methods of me and my friends, just tell me, and I will try to go by your recommendations as much as I realistically can. Also, if there is anything to want to simply ask of me, just say so. I deeply appreciate your concern. --EvoB (talk) 01:27, March 22, 2014 (UTC)

We recently lost two of our Sysops because of real-life priorities, and we are looking for replacements in those we already know have shown an interest. You recently joined the site, and I was wondering if you would be interested in joining the Staff? While we have had our problems here on Nukapedia, I still have always respected the way you get things done, and I feel you could really be a boon to the community as a whole.

We are asking right now, as we are currently in a period of increased activity in both site-updates, as well as unique viewers/new members count. We are looking for additional support in site ideas and help in pushing out updates, but our major priority right now is looking for Staff that would find an interest in kickstarting the community, by participating and recruiting for the chat-rooms, participating in the fora and possibly creating additional threads, or even becoming a part of one of our major community features such as the Patrons' Lounge where you can create content such as what we have with the Competitions of the Month, the Community Polls, Gizmo's Workshop, and the Gourmand of the Apocalypse.

Would you be interested? ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 01:01, March 24, 2014 (UTC)

Hi Clyde,

I'd like to ask you to reconsider the block you've placed on Fireburn12. I don't think this has been applied fairly.

I understand that Fireburn shared the same IP address as the survivor, however there are over 2 weeks difference between both usernames being used on that IP address. In addition, the IP address is assigned to a cellular operator. The way Cellular internet works is that many customers in a given area - potentialy thousands - will all be sharing that IP address. Thousands of cellular users could have routed through that in those two weeks.

Given the lack of any other evidence - all we have here is a suspicion that seems pretty dubious - and the doctrine of good faith, I think we are compelled to assume that in this case it isn't him. Agent c (talk) 16:51, March 29, 2014 (UTC)

Question Edit

Hey Clyde. How's everything? I just wanted to ask you two things about the forum, but I didn't feel it appropriate to post there after it was closed officially. 1. Why is SNM up for review in six months and the FO RP wiki (which has a higher chance being dead) not? 2. What was the pushing factor that allowed the FO RP wiki to be approved despite failing to secure a simple majority in the poll? Thank you for your time. --Skire (talk) 03:11, March 30, 2014 (UTC)

I do! Unfortunately, it is still being made, but it should be done early next week. I actually wanted to ask you guys the same question: does Nukapedia want a specific banner added, or should I use the one I made for Nukapedia around 2-3 years ago? For your convenience:

Oops, almost missed that one: sorry to hear it, although I do understand the situation (the new Wolfenstein is looking pretty great!). Speaking of which, I have never been much of a Wolfenstein fan, so I still remaining a bit skeptical of the new game until I see some official gameplay. Let me know if it is any good, yeah? Potential E3 Interview QuestionsEdit

Forwarded from Jspoel's and Agent c's talkpage
Hey there Agent c!

My name’s Mike and I’m with Wikia’s gaming ComDev team. Just wanted to say hi and ask you a quick question about E3. As you might know, E3 is one of the biggest game conventions of the year, and it’s right around the corner. We may have the opportunity ahead of the show to interview some folks from Bethesda, and we’d love to ask them any questions about any potential Fallout sequels that you or the other admins might have.

Here’s an example of a community interview we’ve done before:

We really like letting Wikia communities ask the questions, because they’re very knowledgeable about their game of choice, and ask extremely in-depth questions that regular news outlets don’t.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in doing, feel free to submit any questions you have here, or directly to me at Hope to hear back from you soon, and thanks again for all your edits & contributions to Nukepedia!

Michael @fandom (profile)•(talk)•(email) 23:07, May 8, 2014 (UTC)

I was thinking we could do something similar to the Rene Auberjonois blog (any progress on that btw?), where people can ask questions and we pick the best ones. What do you think? It's a good opportunity for sure. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 23:30, May 8, 2014 (UTC)

W:NO Edit

Went with one of my few impulse buys (mostly for the Doom 4 beta access) and bought Wolfenstein the other day. There was a really good deal going around, so got it nearly half-price, too. O: Anyways, I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised with the game. How are you liking it so far? Beat it the other day, and I only really have a few grievances:

  • The stealth option is not really a game altering option. Certain enemies you can never take down stealthily, stealth does not allow you to bypass areas entirely, and you still have to kill every enemy on the map first before you are allowed to move on with the game. The main purpose of stealth seems to revolve entirely around killing commanders and wiping out the basic troops so you can take the bigger guys out without having to worry about being swarmed.
  • There are a few plot devices that bothered me. Will refrain from mentioning anything in-case you have not played yet. O:
  • I have had next to no frame-rate issues with Wolfenstein. In-fact, what really gets me is that after a while, even games like Terraria make my rig heat up... Wolfenstein does not. The one that really bothers me, though, is that NPC lips keep moving even when they are done talking. ;_:

ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 18:11, May 24, 2014 (UTC)

Weird... I must be blind, because I never saw a Vault 101 door anywhere in the game. Although, I really did enjoy that Wolfenstein 3D secret. :3 ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 20:47, June 5, 2014 (UTC)

As you already know, I'm growing weary of the poorly functioning javascript based chat bot we're currently using. We've received 2 offers to run a fully scripted chat bot on it's own server, and after we discussed it last time, I decided to give a test run to User:Lil' Miss Rarity's bot. The bot, just like Sactage's, will write the logs to the wiki, as mine had done, but with the addition of all joins, exits, kicks and bans being recorded also. Also, like Sactage's bot, there are lots of other things the bot could do, if we desire. I've stopped using my chatbot account for the time being and we'll see how Rarity's bot does. The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons 20:59, June 8, 2014 (UTC)

Time's almost up for review of SNMEdit

I just reread the authorization of the affiliation with the SNM. It was clearly stated that the association would be reviewed after 6 months. That will be in 8 days. I was wondering what form that review will take? Another forum to discuss the advantages/disadvantages? Just wanted to get the ball rolling on this, please let me know. The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons 20:00, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

I hate to bother you, but something rather important to me has been brought up recently, in which your input would be greatly appreciated. 6 months ago, and for the sake of transparency by explaining, we got together in private, and discussed what it would take to affiliate Nukapedia and the Strategic Nuclear Moose. It was determined, since we were still relatively new, that a 6-month trial would be imposed should the community vote pass, just in-case the Moose died off, or did something to alienate ourselves from Nukapedia.

It has now been 6-months, and our agreed upon re-evaluation is about to go underway. However, the forum creator for the preliminary community evaluation, states that the official re-evaluation at the end of the week, will only determine whether we are renewed as an affiliate for another 6-months, which was not the agreed upon deal, nor what was voted upon by the community. After explaining the situation, the forum creator changed the wording a bit, but the wording still does not portray the original affiliation deal. Since you were the one to give a final verdict over the vote, I was hoping you could come in and clarify the original deal.

The forum can be found here. Thank you for your time. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 02:17, September 24, 2014 (UTC)

Forum Edit

I am not logged in because I am not at home, and I will not be at home for a few days still.

For further clarification on why I dropped the resources idea, it is because I simply do not have the time anymore for a drawn out community vote. Between finishing up our new trading card game for online play, new affiliation deals, getting our pages ready for new features we will be adding soon, and real life as I am about to pick up a second job again soon, all of my free-time is going towards the Moose now.

I do not want to discuss any of the rest. I am not leaving Nukapedia, but I no longer have the time for it right now. 19:42, October 7, 2014 (UTC)

Merry Christmas and a happy new yearEdit

I would like to use the Christmas-wishes-tradition to thank those around me who kept this wiki and daily life more fun for me during the past year. Everything just seems so normal and evident that we are here almost every day, yet it's very worthwhile to consider for a moment how wonderful it is to have all of you around me, making editing and being on chat a lot more enjoyable. I would also like to use this opportunity to wish a happy and healthy new year for you and everyone around you, with perseverance in tough times, but most of all, with wonderful moments among enjoyable friends and family. Ban appeal Edit

I would like to form a ban appeal about my chat ban, though I do not deserve it, given my behavior. I truly regret those actions from before, and for some ungodly reason that you choose to unban me, I promise I will be a better person. If you want me to admit to the things I have done to break the wiki rules, I will do it right now.

1. Made a sockpuppet account.

2. Spamming.

3. Posting inappropriate content in the chat.

4. Overall, being a gigantic dick.

If for whatever reason you unban me, I promise I will try my best to not do any of those ever again. ...Except for maybe the spamming if I get carried away, there's no guarantee on that one. Just being honest here. If I do any of these things, the mods can kick me if they so wish, and I will make sure to stop what I was doing. --TheBigT2000 (talk) 03:48, June 5, 2015 (UTC)

I understand Edit

I understand that the issues lasted for around a year and a half, but I want another chance, and I am aware that I have had many chances before, it has been over a year since my ban, and to be honest, some may argue that that is long enough, but I digress. I do not expect you to unban me, nor do I think that my behavior forgiven. I just ask that you see it in my eyes, that is all. I have learned my lesson from my time being banned, and all I ask is that you give me one more chance, if I lose even this one, I deserve to be banned for good.

...Wow, I spew a lot of crap.--TheBigT2000 (talk) 07:24, June 5, 2015 (UTC)

Misunderstood edit Edit

Hello Kingclyde,

There seems to be misunderstanding I currently edit under the name of Zaserd. I have been actively editing the fallout 4 wiki since the trailer released. I redid the box art, added more ingame locations within fenway park and other minor edits that I have done. I let my friend use my computer while I was in another room. He seemed to make an edit without my permission and an admin by the name of paladin117 had temp banned me for an edit that my friend had made. I come to find this out when I got back inside listing to what he had been doing. If you could fix this misunderstanding that would be great. Zaserd -- 18:46, June 5, 2015 (UTC)

It's a surprise Edit

First of all, I want to apologize for not being able to log-in right now - this is Leon, for the record. I am wondering if you will be free next week? I do not have an exact date, yet, but there is something rather important I want to discuss with the bureaucrats, and I think this is something that you all will want to hear out. Nothing bad - I promise.

This discussion will not be restricted to the bureaucrat team, but the discussion we have will determine whether or not I bring what I have to the community. I really would appreciate it if you could make it, and I will make sure to give you a proper date as soon as I can if you agree.

Thanks in advance - take your time figuring out your answer/schedule, as my own schedule is shaky, which means I could be here later today, or it might take me a few days to be able to check back in. 06:47, June 6, 2015 (UTC)

Competition UpdateEdit

As was determined in today's meeting, a few changes in my sandbox became necessary, and said changes have now been made. It was also determined that the bureaucrats should read over the changes, making sure that everything is up to Nukapedia's standards, before coming to a collective decision as to whether or not I can bring this competition up for community consideration.

It was proposed to me in the meeting, since my prizes are all Bethesda-related, that I should reach out to Bethesda to see if they are willing to endorse/help cover the costs of some of the prizes, in order to help establish legitimacy and help draw in additional attention. I have already sent a message out, and should they answer, I will be updating all communities involved with this competition immediately.

In the meantime, please take this sandbox into consideration, and get back with me at your earliest convenience (before the 25th would be for the best, since I do have other involved communities to take into consideration). Thank you for your time. User:Sarkhan the Sojourner 23:41, June 20, 2015 (UTC)

Just an update that I need an answer by tonight/early tomorrow. I have already put off the competition for over 2-weeks, and with the competition spanning over months, with Fallout 4 allegedly coming out in November of this year, I cannot afford to spend too much more of that time waiting around.
If I get approval here, I can afford one more week, in regards to getting a community forum started and a consensus gained. In the case where a consensus can be reached, I can be ready to immediately have Nukapedia involved, and the competition started. Thank you for your time and consideration. User:Sarkhan the Sojourner 14:55, June 24, 2015 (UTC)

Chat Edit

I am not interested anymore. This wiki is unhealthy for me, and it has gotten to the point, where the very mention of this place sickens me to my stomach. And it is not the wiki that is the problem - I love Nukapedia. It is its users, that are so biased, that they do not even recognize their own bias.

I have a challenge for you. In fact, I have an offer for you, should you take me up on my challenge. If you do as I ask, I will not only earn a lot of respect for you again, but I will publicly apologize for my words to you.

I want you to seek out the users at this wiki. The old timers. The once-active, but now lurk the wiki users. The prominent users that suddenly disappeared from Nukapedia. The once reputable users, that ended up lashing out due to consistent abuse against them, and ended up banned and leaving the wiki. You see, I am still friends with a lot of people that no longer frequent Nukapedia, and something I have noticed, when speaking with them, is a recurring theme as to why they left Nukapedia, or as to why they are no longer inclined to be an active part of it anymore.

Should you decide not to take me up on this challenge, consider our words over. But if you decide to act as a leader for this community, and you look into the festering blight that is spreading across Nukapedia, then I welcome the chance to speak as equals again. There is a lot that you have missed, that you are shielding your eyes from, and maybe it is time you listened to the users, instead of just your friends. User:Sarkhan the Sojourner 23:56, August 7, 2015 (UTC)

Oh, and for the record, stop drinking Chad's Kool-Aid. I was tickled that you suggested that my promise was included in the minutes, so I just went back through them to see if Kern was misquoting me. And guess what I found?

"Consensus is to put it on a forum and decide there."

So when Chad says that this alleged promise I made is in the meeting minutes, not only is he full of shit, but he just helped contradict himself. Genius. User:Sarkhan the Sojourner 00:13, August 8, 2015 (UTC)

Vault 0 Edit

I do not know what you're talking about, the edit war was between OfficialLolGuy and the anon. I reverted him because he was in violation of site policy and locked the page before he did something to get himself blocked. Paladin117>>iff bored; 18:04, August 20, 2015 (UTC)

Name Change Edit

Haha - I am actually really surprised that you are the first user to have asked me that. Kind of two-fold:

  1. I have plans to start seriously getting involved over at the RP wiki here on Wikia. I have multiple accounts on Wikia, all of which are specialized towards specific wikis. So instead of creating a redundant role-playing account for another Fallout wiki, I decided to just make it simple, and re-name my primary Fallout account.
  2. Since my re-name, I have grown to really like it. I even changed my Steam and Moose name to it. However, I have had issues with the re-naming mechanic over at The Vault, which forced me to lose my old account and create a new one. The old one can be found at Leon934 (I think?). So I am not going to bother risking my account again, just to satisfy some silly ass urge to change my name to a more role-playey one. User:Sarkhan the Sojourner 19:18, August 20, 2015 (UTC)

Vault 0Edit

I understand what you're saying, and I know it was against the rules, and it was but tbh, I myself, I'm not really bothered about that. Look at it this way - if I'd have just left it, and made a talk page discussion, what do you think the chances of me getting a response and a discussion about the edit are? 90% of the time, there's gonna be zero chance of that happening, because I've lost count of how many times it's happened. But, when I started an edit war, it was different, and then you took the time to look into it. I shouldn't have to do that though. I shouldn't have to stick my neck out and risk my rights just to spark attention to a subject, but if it's what I have to do, then so be it, whatever. Way I see it, if a special rights user isn't also going to get involved in a discussion on the subject of something they've reverted, then they shouldn't revert it at all. That's basically a technical abuse of power if you think about it, using their powers and ignoring something as a method of silencing something.

But anyway, back to the subject, Vault 0, is the term "mental retardation" actually used in-game, or is it just something that we as editors are putting in? If it's used in-game, then fair enough, but if not, then it should immediately be reverted, because it looks bad on the wiki, because it's basically us choosing to use that terminology. Unless the word's used in-game, we should really go with the best word to use in our world at the present time, because if we use the logic of "divergence", then if you think about it, there's a lot of offensive shit we could write and defend it by referring to the divergence, even though it's not used in-game, which is basically what the current logic is saying.
