Welcome to Nukapedia!

Greetings, Godzillafan4ever, and welcome to the Fallout Wiki!

If you have questions, please feel free to ask one of our administrators or moderators or head over to our Discord. We look forward to working with you!

Sincerely, The Gunny (talk) 05:42, October 17, 2016 (UTC)

What exactly do you mean? ☢ Energy X ☣ 07:17, October 17, 2016 (UTC)

I don't know exactly who you are, but it is somewhat rude to start demanding things from me. Anyway, I don't know how to add them. Even if I knew how to upload those files, I am still unable at the moment, since I don't have Fallout 3 and 4 installed. ☢ Energy X ☣ 07:57, October 18, 2016 (UTC)
We are all purely volunteers here, nothing is obligated. No one has come around to doing it, and this one also takes some figuring out. Maybe you can do it. Jspoel Speech Jspoel.png 14:57, October 18, 2016 (UTC)

Warning blue.png Hello Godzillafan4ever, thank you for your recent edit to a weapon page here at Nukapedia. I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know that we don't put real-world weapon references on article pages, unless it's the same name as the real-world weapon, or if is mentioned by a developer that the in-game weapon is intended to represent a specific real-world weapon. You should take this opportunity to completely familiarize yourself with Nukapedia's user policies and content guidelines, if you have not yet done so.

Edit warring

I've asked another admin to pick up the revision on my revision on Nikolia Tesla and you. Per our user conduct guideline you don't revert after being reverted, you seek consensus.

As interesting as it may be that Nikolai attempted to invent a laser weapon, I suspect they just went with Nikolai purely because he is seen as the inventor of electricity, which is the association most people are going to be aware of. I didn't see it as you put it myself. Sakaratte - Talk to the catmin 07:50, January 16, 2018 (UTC)

Goin' Under

Could you provide a link to iTunes for your claim in this edit? I can't seem to find any mention of the song Goin' Under on iTunes to begin with :/
- FDekker talk 11:43, January 21, 2018 (UTC)

Did you add the song to iTunes yourself or did you buy it in the iTunes store? If you added it yourself I'd like to ask where you added it from, because that would then be the source of the claim Jake Irwing is the artist. If you bought it from the iTunes store: What is the name of the album the song is in, and what are some other songs by Jake Irwin? All those things would help me find the source of the claim.
- FDekker talk 12:21, January 22, 2018 (UTC)
The page you linked to says the following:
For these few tracks we chose random NPCs from the Mojave and assigned them as the artists. These tracks are “James Garret & Elizabeth Kieran - Where Have You Been All My Life”, “Bruce Isaac - Sit and Dream” and “Jake Erwin - Goin' Under”. The tracks that were later discovered and added to this compilation that seemingly recorded solely for the game had the artist field tagged as “J.E. Sawyer”.
I think this is convincing evidence that the real artist of the song is (and remains) unknown. Do you agree with removing Jake Erwin as the artist of Goin' Under?
- FDekker talk 11:56, January 26, 2018 (UTC)
That's a picture of Jake Erwin, who just happens to have the same name as the character from FNV. The real-life Jake Erwin doesn't sing; instead he plays bass in jazz songs, so I highly doubt he's related to the song Goin' Under, especially since the only source that claims that Jake Erwin is related to the song explicitly states that they made that up.
- FDekker talk 21:13, January 26, 2018 (UTC)

As per our wiki's policy, real world weapon comparisons without developer citation (or use or the real guns name such as M1 Garand) is not allowed. The .357 magnum revolver has a developer source for the information regarding what it is based on. If he says it's a Colt Single Action Army with a few other guns used as reference that's what it is. What IMFDB says is irrelevant. Richie9999 (talk) 22:07, January 26, 2018 (UTC)

Colter's accent

In several edits you've added information on Colter's exact accent, but those edits have repeatedly been reverted by other users. If you still disagree, I think it would be useful to discuss the issue on Colter's talk page. Continuing to revert each other's edits (which is known as edit warring) and writing arguments in edit summaries just aren't as effective as a good discussion. Even if you want to write down a different accent than last time I think it would be more useful to suggest it on the talk page first, considering that people have tended to disagree with your previous suggestions.

Nothing wrong with being nosy, if we weren't half the things we have on here wouldn't be present. It just has to be a verifiable fact rather than an assumption based the earliest date seen. Also, please remember to sign talk page messages with ~~~~, just so we know who left a message without checking the page history. It get shard to keep track of who said what otherwise. Hey there, we had someone drop in our discord with a very similar name to yours. If it was you can you ping the chat mods when you're free? Don't worry if you're stuck in the isolation cell at the time, we'll get you out asap. Sakaratte - Talk to the catmin 00:07, May 31, 2018 (UTC)

Matthew's talkpage

I appreciate that pornography can be a very emotive subject and people will hold very strong views on it, however:

I don't know what's going to happen to you for proposing this, but take my advice and remove your account--the admins don't seem as forgiving as I am!

I'm in two minds about this part of your messages. I don't think a single administrator would ban someone for asking a genuine question, regardless of the subject matter, besides it is rude to speak for others.

  • Don't be rude: Excessive rudeness to other posters (whether they are anonymous or not) is not welcome. Such comments will be deleted and may be grounds for blocking.FW:UC

I don't think you've crossed this line here, but in future consider what you say and how you say it, especially when you have personal feelings involved. We do give leeway on the rules, but there is only so much we can give. Sakaratte - Talk to the catmin 12:11, June 10, 2018 (UTC)

Pretty much. The message was directed to an admin on their talkpage, so it was a message for them to respond to. In the end the same result would have been given to the person who asked, regardless of what you had said. Sakaratte - Talk to the catmin 17:44, June 10, 2018 (UTC)

I already stopped asking about it after Sakarette advised against porn inclusion. I don't know why the issue is still being pushed. MatthewOne (talk) 17:46, June 10, 2018 (UTC)

The Blue Danube

You added that the opening bars of the Blue Danube were composed by Johannes Brahms and explained your reasons in your edit summary. But if Brahms said "Alas, not by Johannes Brahms", wouldn't that indicate that he was not the composer of that part? I'm not an expert in (classical) music, so I really wouldn't know.
- FDekker talk 15:19, September 15, 2018 (UTC)

I believe the story, it's just that I interpreted it differently. The story is that Brahms wrote down the five bars when asked for his signature and said "Alas, not by Johannes Brahms". You interpret that as proof that Brahms composed those bars, but I interpreted that as Brahms saying that he admires that part and would wish that he had written it.
- FDekker talk 15:47, September 15, 2018 (UTC)
From what I can find on Google, the event where Brahms wrote down the bars instead of his signature happened after Strauss completed The Blue Danube. Additionally, I cannot find any source saying that Brahms has contributed to that music piece, so I think the part about Brahms having composed the first bars should be removed.
- FDekker talk 20:07, September 15, 2018 (UTC)
In light of my above argumentation and lack of response from your side I have decided to remove the note that Brahms composed the first five bars. If you disagree, please tell me.

Classical Radio

We now have pages for them. You can add your wikipedia links there. Jspoel Speech Jspoel.png 18:15, November 15, 2018 (UTC)

Ok, you can change back the songs that had wikipedia links. The song page that was created can become a redirect to the Classical Radio (Fallout 76) page. Jspoel Speech Jspoel.png 18:46, November 15, 2018 (UTC)

WGRF Grafton

Can you tell me where you found the text of WGRF Grafton radio and its comments (tooltips)? Jspoel Speech Jspoel.png 15:30, December 30, 2018 (UTC)

Yes, but where did you find those comments to what is said? It doesn't give them in the game right? Jspoel Speech Jspoel.png 18:14, December 30, 2018 (UTC)
You don't have to apologize. I was kind of hopeful you could point me directions in the editing tool I have, where you find those radio dialogues and its comments. Then I can use it for other radio pages. Jspoel Speech Jspoel.png 18:21, December 30, 2018 (UTC)
Here's the program. You have to rework it a bit to make it work for Fallout 76. [1]

Transcript template

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that the wiki has a transcript template which should be used for transcripts of dialogue/text from the games. Just for any future transcripts you add (I have added it to your Hunter/Hunted (Fallout 76) edit) :) --L84tea Tea kettle.pngWould you like a cup of tea? 06:15, May 16, 2019 (UTC)

"President" Eckhart

I'm going to clarify this to you so that this doesn't escalate into an edit war - Eckhart was not the POTUS in 2077. He was the Secretary of Agriculture. After the Bunker lost contact with other Enclave cells, he held a rigged emergency election and became the "President" of the Appalachian branch, when the truth is that the pre-war POTUS was still alive and well on the Oil Rig. -- DirtyBlue929 (talk) 21:53, June 10, 2019 (UTC)

New company pages

I like that you're getting all the company pages made, but can you add the pre-war company category to them so they're not all uncategorized? Devastating DaveZIP ZAP RAP 15:24, May 15, 2020 (UTC)

Why are you placing a ( directly behind a word, without a space. That's not proper grammar. Also had to correct a lot of stuff on your new pages. Jspoel Speech Jspoel.png 15:56, May 15, 2020 (UTC)

Eddie Winter holotapes

It does matter, because the transcripts are supposed to be following the actual transcripts of the tapes. We don't need you or every other newcomer that doesn't know what they're doing here coming along and "fixing" the transcripts. Great Mara (talk) 01:18, May 25, 2020 (UTC)

That last sentence of the paragraph

No, it's not better.

First: You summarized your first edit of that sentence with making it "more formal", but removed the "s" after the apostrophe for the possessive form of Atlas. While this may be correct English in your eyes, the "s" is, for example, recommended by the Chicago Manual of Style, and – more important – already used like this in the very section that you edited, making your change break consistent writing style. Which certainly is not "more formal". And which you did again in your revert.

Second: In my eyes, the sentence, as it was before, matched perfectly the style of the whole section, and there's absolutely no need to add something that connects that fine, ominous conclusion to the timeline, or add an "ultimately". Why do that? Furthermore, you even change the content of the sentence without explanation: while the original version only says that not "all of [his] remains" were found, you outright state that "[his] body was never found", which in my ears more sounds like "nothing at all", rather than leaving it open to the imagination of the person that listens to this legend(!) which parts may have been found.

Third: "In general, if someone reverts an edit you made, you should not re-add it without reaching a consensus on the article's talk page." Rather than you did, I will follow our guideline about edit warring and not revert your revert of my revert – unless this discussion here does not reach any consensus.

I just noticed, this is not the first time you reverted a revert – the concept of edit war has been already explained to you. -- UserCCCSig.png -- You talkin' to me? -- cCContributions -- 09:50, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
