Ratch, using his mutant strength, breaks down the rotten planks, after which the party enters the musky gas station store. A small campfire, burnt out but fresh, lays in the centre of the room and a nearby window seemingly broken for ventilation. Several corpses surround the dead fire; all executed. The corpses all share the same metallic collar clamped around their necks, though their pockets are devoid of any items of note.
Nearby, in a crate near the campfire, the party discovers a small cache of caps which has been shared randomly with the group.

Day Two - The Hub[]
2nd, August 2281 The Core Region
After struggling through the coarse, sandy abyss the party arrives at sanctuary, at last. The Hub, under the flag of the bear, stands rigid against the beating sun, offering trade and commerce to everyone with the right pay. Though clearly with mutants, the city's guards make note not to aggravate the well-equipped group. The trade city is expansive; stalls and shops stretch in every direction with keeps bleating their prices and stock to every fledgling customer who walks by. The largest and most varied in stock stall you see is a giant marquee tent with the, rather crudely written, title “Alan’s Amazing Arms!” painted on the overhang.
A few old computer terminals lie in a refuse pile to the side of the stall, their monitors flickering in and out of life.
Skulking near the entrance to a bar are a few drug addled mercenaries, possibly ex-raiders, harassing citizens for their next fix.
Nearby a small-scale, and rather grim, casino has a row of brightly illuminated slot machines ready to spin for the gambling entrepreneur; caps accepted.
This area is marked Safe.
