Kombo.com looks back at Fallout 3 DLC.

1) Mothership Zeta - For the rest of us this one came last and only a short time ago, but I wish I played it sooner in my run. The content and playthrough does seem a bit on the light side, as I finished it in about two nights. But that's not where the core of Zeta lies. First, at this point in the game, the feeling of being on the Zeta alien ship will be a welcome change to anything earthly related you've previously been playing through. The silver-lined-sleek corridors bring a crisp cleanliness that's hard to come by in the run-down-shackled-wasteland. It may not be the most interesting environment to gawk at, but it's different for sure. And anything different in a game that can grab hold of you for over 100 hours has to have some change up here and there.

OXM is looking forward to Fallout: New Vegas. Don't forget that they'll have first info about it in their next issue.

Announced earlier in the year, this isn't an explicit sequel to Fallout 3 but another adventure set in the same world - this time West Coast USA. It'll be a while before we get more details, but you'll be reading them here first.

They're also looking for new jobs for Vault Boy.

Gamersyde is also waiting for New Vegas:

Good news, everybody should find something to play in 2010. Should you prefer western RPG, Japanese RPG, or more experimental French adventure games, all kinds of games will be available, as soon as the first quarter. Mass Effect 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Heavy Rain, three completely different games, but that should all offer a rich and immersive experience. Less hyped - which is not necessarily a bad thing -, End of Eternity from Tri Ace and Obsidian’s Alpha Protocol will certainly know how to keep gamers busy while waiting for the end of the year and the potential releases of Fable 3 and a new Fallout (Vegas) from Bethesda. To finish, if you haven't caved to the joy of import, White Knight Chronicles will finally arrive on the PS3 to a western audience, just like Yakuza 3 from Sega.

Curious that they mentioned Obsidian in the context of Alpha Protocol, but only Bethesda in the context of New Vegas.

IGN has a comparison editorial on Fallout 3 vs. Metro 2033.

Take money, for instance. In Fallout, people use bottlecaps as currency; these pre-war artifacts are scarce simply because they aren't being made any more. In Metro, people use 5.45mm caliber bullets. In an early mission, a young scallywag offers to guide you to your next waypoint in exchange for one of these irreplaceable little slugs. As this post-nuclear Oliver Twist leads you on a merry course through grubby corridors and filth-encrusted pig pens, the thought occurs: does he want the bullet to buy candy? Or does he just want to end it all?

Also, apparently Fallout 3 has a curious cameo in the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. Maybe it's not the best choice in a movie for kids.

According to one R Wisnewski — who dubiously claims his “kids” saw the PG-rated flick — Fallout 3 is featured “prominently” during one scene. The post-apocalyptic epic is apparently spread across the cover of a digital magazine prop laying within the room of a vidgame-playing rodent.

GameStop and Play-Asia stores claim that Fallout: New Vegas will be released in June 2010. However, keep in mind that such dates are in most cases simply conjectural.
