Today we will learn all about page management templates. You have likely seen a colorful box at the top of an article every here and again, letting you know specific information is needed on that article. Those are the templates in action.

Page management templates

Mbox default.png
Example: Page management template
This is an example for the look of a page management template.

Page management templates are used if you notice that something is out of order with a certain page or section and want to bring it to the attention of other editors or administrators, and they are differentiated by color. They display a box describing the issue and add the page to the appropriate maintenance category (for example, the stub template will add the article to the Category:Stub automatically, kind of like we learned with bug templates).

You will place the template you want to use at the very top of the article (urgh except stub and section, which goes all the way at the bottom or where needed, there always has to be an exception right?) You can use a verticle line and then describe in more detail what is needed. Here is a color key and some examples of the template you can use, and what they look like on an article.

Color key

Color Used for Example
red serious issues {{Delete}}

{{Delete|Reason why this article should be deleted}}

Nominated for deletion (reason: Reason why this article should be deleted)
If you disagree with this page's deletion, please explain why on its talk page. If it is obvious that this page should not be deleted, or if you intend to improve it, please remove this template, but do not remove it from articles that you have created yourself.

{{Stub|Game abbreviation|Details}}
Mbox stub.png
Expansion required
This article is too short to provide more than rudimentary information about the subject. You can help Nukapedia by expanding it.

{{Infobox incomplete|Game abbreviation|What is missing}}
Mbox incomplete.png
Infobox incomplete
The infobox template in this article is missing some required data. You can help Nukapedia by filling it in.

{{Merge|To what article|Reason}}
Mbox merge.png
Merge (reason: duplicate information)
It has been suggested that this article or section should be merged with other article name. Please help Nukapedia by discussing this issue on the talk page.
{{Split|To what article|Reason}}
Mbox split.png
Split (reason: different games)
It has been suggested that this article or section should be split in multiple parts. Please help Nukapedia by discussing this issue on the talk page.

Always make sure to use a vertical line to either explain the needs or add game abbreviations. Especially since game abbreviations will add those articles to correct categories. The following three types of templates all require game abbreviations, which can be found here.

Stubs

Mbox stub.png
Expansion required
This article is too short to provide more than rudimentary information about the subject. You can help Nukapedia by expanding it.

Stubs are articles that are too short and need to be expanded. By using a game-specific abbreviation, it will be placed in the corresponding game-specific category. Remember to put it at the bottom of the article, near navboxes.

And if you see an article that is not a stub but is marked as one, it is probably because someone forgot to remove it, and you can do that for them! If you go to the category here and see some that are not in the game-specific folders, you can fix that as well.

For additional leisure reading about stubs, check out the Stub Removal Project and join if you'd like!

Name When to use it How to insert
Stub (Fallout) Fallout (1) article should be expanded {{Stub|FO1}}
Stub (Fallout 2) Fallout 2 article should be expanded {{Stub|FO2}}
Stub (Fallout 3) Fallout 3 article should be expanded {{Stub|FO3}}
Stub (Fallout: New Vegas) Fallout: New Vegas article should be expanded {{Stub|FNV}}
Stub (Fallout 4) Fallout 4 article should be expanded {{Stub|FO4}}
Stub (Fallout 76) Fallout 76 article should be expanded {{Stub|FO76}}
Stub (Fallout Tactics) Fallout Tactics article should be expanded {{Stub|FOT}}
Stub (Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel) Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel article should be expanded {{Stub|FOBOS}}
Stub (Van Buren) Van Buren article should be expanded {{Stub|VB}}

Section needed

Mbox stub.png
Section needed
This section is needed but has not been written yet. You can help Nukapedia by writing it.

The section needed template is nearly identical to stubs, just in that a section is missing from an article, such as layout, or crafting. It likewise adds the articles to the categories here. Put the template in the section that is missing and you are all set!

Name When to use it How to insert
Section needed (Fallout) Fallout (1) article has section missing {{Section|FO1}}
Section needed (Fallout 2) Fallout 2 article has section missing {{Section|FO2}}
Section needed (Fallout 3) Fallout 3 article has section missing {{Section|FO3}}
Section needed (Fallout: New Vegas) Fallout: New Vegas article has section missing {{Section|FNV}}
Section needed (Fallout 4) Fallout 4 article has section missing {{Section|FO4}}
Section needed (Fallout 76) Fallout 76 article has section missing {{Section|FO76}}
Section needed (Fallout Tactics) Fallout Tactics article has section missing {{Section|FOT}}
Section needed (Fallout: BoS) Fallout: BoS article has section missing {{Section|FOBOS}}
Section needed (Van Buren) Van Buren article has section missing {{Section|VB}}

Infobox incomplete

Mbox incomplete.png
Infobox incomplete
The infobox template in this article is missing some required data. You can help Nukapedia by filling it in.

Simple is as simple does, this template says there is something needed, and the game abbreviation can say for what game. Make sure to add what is missing so people know what to add for it!
