For a cross-game overview of this perk, see Toughness. |
Toughness is an Endurance perk in Fallout 4.
Effects[]
Taking ranks of this perk increases Damage Resistance independent of any bonuses from armor.
Generally, the DR bonus from a single rank of this perk is less than would be obtained from a +1 increase to Endurance or an extra rank of the Armorer perk. This is because this perk's bonus has inverted scaling: each rank's DR bonus is flat (+10), the bonus is added to a sublinear scaling factor (such that 20 is less than twice as helpful as 10), and the bonus is also flat in respect to the player's base statline (i.e. the DR provided by this perk is strictly flat, whereas the DR provided by leveled armor is scaled based on level.) The flat bonus is also very small compared to the bonus from an additional rank of Armorer (which also provides other benefits, like ER) or an extra point of Endurance (which provides extra durability relative to level.)
