Goodbye paradise[]
Well, that was a bummer.
I was looking forward to spending the end of the world in my new retreat, being waited on by my friends. Because when Tommy Heinrich makes friends, it's all about one question - how are you going to help me?
Well, Wendy worked at a diner, so I knew she was used to waiting on people. Mike's a mechanic, so when things broke down, I'd beckon him to fix it. And John's funny, and every wealthy guy needs someone to make him laugh, and occasionally dance for his amusement.
Plus, if I saved their asses, they'd owe me forever, plus interest. But the bombs dropped before I could even have them sign over their lives, contractually. Now they're wanting to enforce verbal contracts I made that were obviously lies.
Ugh, it pains me that I have to treat these three as equal partners. But sometimes that's how it shakes out.
Sunscreen[]
The one thing I don't like about this place, there isn't enough sunscreen. My skin is delicate. I need at least three layers of kiwi-scented oxybenzone sunscreen glazed over my epidermis like a fine paste. The others like to spend their time by the pool, but I need a reason to beyond burning myself to a crisp.
My time is valuable, it should not be wasted unless I'm getting something out of it
Pool party[]
Mike wants to have a pool party to celebrate my birthday, and maybe play some cards. And I'm thinking, give me a break, not again with the pool. Is this what poor people do all day when I'm not around?
Even John seems to have lost his sense of humor. His jokes don't have the same punch. I should've just bought one of those Mr. Handys instead. At least their jokes are funny.
But it just doesn't feel the same telling him what to do, when he's programmed to listen. It's more fun when they resist a little, when you know they don't want to do something, but they have to, because you command them to.
