The tomahawk is a thrown melee weapon in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts.
Characteristics[]
A throwing weapon, consisting of two railway spikes secured to a pipe with electrical cable and a bungee cord with feathers, paint, and beads added for decoration.
It deals the third-lowest damage per strike of all thrown melee weapons, above the throwing knife and throwing hatchet, at the third-slowest attack speed, above the throwing knife spear and the throwing spear. It has the third-highest critical hit damage and AP cost, below the throwing knife spear and throwing spear. It shares the spears' weight of a half pound, the lowest in the game.

Notes[]
- Similar to the throwing spear, this weapon will stick in the ground, walls, etc., but cannot be retrieved after being thrown.
- If the player is hit by a tomahawk, it is visibly sticking out of them in third-person. However, after approximately five seconds, it will disappear.
- The tomahawk has very high item health relative to most other melee weapons, and as such would degrade very slowly, even though you can only attack once with it as it becomes irretrievable once thrown.
- Similarly to other melee throwing weapons, the tomahawk can be targeted in V.A.T.S. after an enemy has thrown it.
- The pair of spikes used as the weapon's striking point is visually similar to the railway spikes ammunition type used for the railway rifle in Fallout 3.
Bugs[]
- throwing spear.[verified] When holding more than 30 tomahawks, it will show that you only have a small amount. However, if you drop the small amount, it will then say you have 30, much like the
- In first person, you will not have a tomahawk visible in your hand, but if you throw one, you will still have the same amount, effectively creating an infinite number of tomahawks.[verified]
