Tom was an associate of Private Miller before the Great War.
Background
Tom was the intended victim of a scam by Private Miller, who attempted to sell him three fake gold bars, labeled dubious, questionable, and suspicious, respectively.[1] Instead of meeting him in person, Tom sent his robot to seal the deal, which led to the demise of Miller and the destruction of the robot.
