The mailman is a paper note in Fallout 76, introduced in the Burning Springs update.

This note can be found on a record console on the fourth floor of a destroyed building, across from Pallas Cinema and behind the Slocum's Joe in the northeastern side of Athens.

June,
We need to get out of here. Something that walked like a man, but couldn't be, came into Athens today. It ran through the square, past the festival. It was screaming, flailing. The flesh was sloughing off and it had no hair. From its clothes, it looked like it used to be a mailman. It still had a satchel and there were letters in it. The thing looked dead.
I was there when the soldiers shot it down. They shot it over and over and it kept running. Running and screaming until it was on the ground shot. It was looking right at me, and it seemed to be mouthing the word "help" over and over. After, they went to fetch their doctor. They told me not to panic and to go home, right away. Did that used to be a person? Can it happen to us?
We need to leave, tonight.
