Detailed walkthrough[]
This quest is triggered automatically after downloading the Lonesome Road add-on and then either loading a previous save made after, or stepping out into the Mojave Wasteland for the first time after completing Ain't That a Kick in the Head and leaving Doc Mitchell's house in Goodsprings. A message pops up to confirm the add-on's installation and the level-cap raise. Then the Pip-Boy picks up an unspecified radio signal, delivering a message signed by Ulysses that only reads "Courier Six..." and provides coordinates for their Pip-Boy to lead them to the canyon wreckage west of Primm.
Travel to the canyon wreckage by first going southwest from Primm until one finds the California Sunset Drive-in, then turn northwest and follow the road up to the site. One may encounter feral ghouls and coyotes on the way.
Upon reaching the canyon wreckage, one finds a short pass blockaded by pre-War vehicle husks. There are a pair of graves to the right, and against a wooden board with graffiti on it, a duffle bag that contains random loot including some MREs. Once one interacts with the door of the biggest bus wreck, a message will appear, as follows:
The coordinates you received lead you to this canyon filled with storm tossed wreckage. Beyond lies the Divide.
Lonesome Road is intended for experienced couriers (level 25+). You cannot take companions with you on the road ahead (or bring any you find out with you). You can carry whatever equipment and gear you have with you without restrictions, however.
If the journey proves too difficult, or if you need to resupply, you can retrace your steps and return to the Mojave at any time. If you are prepared, then continue onto the storms of the Divide...history awaits.
Once all is prepared and ready to go, use the door to enter the Divide, leading into the quest The Silo.
