The Humble Cudgel is a unique weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.

Characteristics[]

Compared to the standard lead pipe, the Humble Cudgel deals an extra 4 damage over its non-unique counterpart, and uses 3 less AP per attack when wielded in V.A.T.S. It also has 50% more item HP than the standard lead pipe. However, it has a somewhat shorter reach than a regular lead pipe.

Visually, the weapon is less corroded and has a T fitting on the end similar to a mallet. Its middle section is also slightly bent.

Special attack[]

The Humble Cudgel has a special Lights Out attack that does 125% damage in V.A.T.S. at the cost of 9 more action points (requires a Melee skill of 50).

It is possible to execute Lights Out outside of V.A.T.S. (without the required Melee skill of 50 to perform the move) by initiating a power attack while moving forward.

Durability[]

The Humble Cudgel can successfully strike about 370 times from full condition before breaking.

Variants[]

  • Lead pipe - the standard variant in the Mojave Wasteland.
  • Raul's lead pipe - a unique non-playable weapon used by Raul Tejada. It only differs from the standard variant in having a slightly longer reach.

Location[]

The weapon is located in the sealed sewers in West Vegas, found on a dead prospector. To reach the sealed sewers, one must start by accessing the sewer grate outside the entrance to Camp McCarran, leading into the central sewers. From the entrance, walking west from the second row of sandbags leads to the door to the sealed sewers. It will be locked however, and the key must be acquired either off the corpse of "Blind" Luke or that of "Sweet" Jill in the central sewers.

Behind the scenes[]

A cudgel is an alternative name for a club, as well as serving as a verb to describe the use of the weapon itself ("to cudgel").
