“If this statement is being broadcast, I am deceased. Please approach a Securitron and take one of the printed obituaries.”— Mr. House

The House Has Gone Bust! is a side quest in Fallout: New Vegas. This quest serves as the House counterpart to Beware the Wrath of Caesar! for the Legion and Don't Tread on the Bear! for the NCR; failing it indicates that the associated faction's questline is permanently locked out and their ending no longer possible to achieve (Yes Man has no such quest and is always available as a faction).
If one betrays Mr. House, either by refusing to hand over the platinum chip during The House Always Wins I, destroying the Securitron vault for Caesar during Render Unto Caesar (which runs parallel with The House Always Wins II), or independently accessing the elevator to the control room, the elevator to the rest of the Lucky 38 will be locked until he is killed or disconnected; afterward Victor will disappear from both the Lucky 38 and outside on the Strip, and one will be able to directly interact with the elevator to change floors themselves.

Bugs[]
After starting this quest, it will usually be immediately marked as failed. In rare cases, the quest will be marked as completed, granting 505 or even 755 XP. However, it is unknown if Mr. House himself causes this XP boost or if the quest itself does.[verification overdue][platforms tag needed]
