The Ghoul's revolver is a weapon appearing in the Fallout TV series.
Characteristics[]
This weapon is a unique revolver and grenade launcher carried by the Ghoul, alongside his rifle, Mare's Leg.[1] It is visually a large-caliber break-action revolver with a 4-shot cylinder. It fires various types of finned bullets, which cause tremendous damage to human targets.
In the TV series[]
The Target[]
At Filly, the Ghoul confronts his target Siggi Wilzig and uses his revolver to blow off his left foot. Immediately after this, Ma June puts a one thousand caps bounty on the Ghoul's head, inspiring some of the Filly townsfolk to take arms against him to collect the bounty.
In retaliation, the Ghoul uses his revolver against the Filly ambushers and manages to kill at least eight or nine of the Filly residents. He also uses it against Maximus, who uses his T-60 power armor to protect Lucy from a bullet shot by the Ghoul's revolver. As Maximus tries to escape after the Ghoul uses his knife to cut one of Maximus' power armor's oxygen tubes, the Ghoul fires his revolver at him.
The Head[]
Using CX404 to track the the head's location, the Ghoul points his revolver at Lucy, who tries to be amicable toward him, but he uses the butt of the gun to threaten her.
He'd later point it at Lucy to keep her in line.
The Ghouls[]
Meeting an old acquaintance of the Ghoul, by the name of Roger in the sand-filled Westside Medical Clinic. After a quaint conversation with Roger, the Ghoul shot a hole into his head using his revolver.
The Radio[]
When confronting Tommy and his father Adam in their house, he kills Tommy using his revolver when he tries to grab his flintlock musket. The gun is later seen in its holster when he rescues CX404 inside a Nuka-Cola freezer at a Red Rocket station.
The Beginning[]
The Ghoul uses his revolver during his confrontation against the Brotherhood of Steel Knights at the Griffith Observatory. He later fires it at Hank MacLean's face from a far distance. While approaching Hank, he holds him at gunpoint, reminiscing a bit about how he once knew him Pre-War, before demanding to know where his family is. Hank tries to run away while still at gunpoint, but the Ghoul lets him escape. With Hank gone, the Ghoul puts his revolver back in his holster and leaves the place with Lucy in tow.
Appearances[]
Aside from the Fallout TV series, the revolver appears in Fallout Shelter (added in update 1.16.0 as the Ghoul revolver) and in the Hollywood Heroes expansion for Fallout: Wasteland Warfare and Fallout: Factions (as the "Ghoul's pistol").
Behind the scenes[]
- According to firearms historian Jonathan Ferguson and the Internet Movie Firearms Database, the Ghoul's revolver is based on the MTs255 revolving shotgun, but with several design liberties.[2][3]
- In some scenes, the Ghoul fires more than four shots from his sidearm without reloading.
- The Ghoul often fan-fires this revolver, a shooting technique popular in Western genres and cowboy culture of which he was famous for in his pre-War life.
