The Courier Who Broke the Bank is an achievement/trophy in Fallout: New Vegas which is awarded for successfully getting thrown out of all of the casinos on the strip, as opposed to the popular misconception that being kicked out of all of the casinos in the Mojave is needed.
Get banned from gambling only in the casinos on the strip - The Tops, Ultra-Luxe, and Gomorrah. The amount needed for each casino to kick you out is 15,000 for Ultra-Luxe, 10,000 for The Tops and 9,000 for Gomorrah. Take note that these numbers are of earnings, not the amount of chips that the player has at one given time.
Behind the Scenes
The Courier Who Broke the Bank is a reference to Joseph Jagger (1830 – 1892), a British engineer who was widely known as The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo. This name is also attributed to Charles Wells.
Notes
- Luck improves your chance of winning at gambling.
- It is advised to play roulette only if your Luck is high, otherwise blackjack would be your best bet.
- You will be approached by staff every quarter of the total winnings you need for getting kicked out of the casino with rewards for being a high-roller. Rewards include:
- food items and alcohol
- Combat Armor, Reinforced at 75% condition (Gomorrah, final reward)
- Key to the "High Roller Suite" (Tops, final reward)
- Key to the "Bon Vivant Suite" (Ultra-Luxe, final reward)
- If having difficulty, a good strategy would be to save your game every 400+ chips you earn, so that if you have an unlucky streak you will at least have something to fall back on. This can be time consuming depending on the player's luck, but it does work eventually.
- If you save before playing any casino game and proceed to net a loss at a game and then try to load the game and try again, then the dealer will take a 60 second break to change the deck as a deterrent to cheating. This 60 second break applies to roulette and slots, not just blackjack.
