Test cells are locations within the files of a game and are inaccessible during normal gameplay.
Characteristics[]
They are used by developers to test the functionality of various aspects of gameplay, including traps, textures, and quests. They may also be used to store assets, such as containers or NPCs, that are not meant to be physically available in-game, or which are only spawned in-game via certain script conditions.
Appearances[]
Test cells are found in Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 4 as well as their respective add-ons. Test cells are also within the game files of Fallout 76.
