The Solar Scorcher is a special laser pistol which uses sunlight as its source of energy. In full daylight, the experimental photo-electric cells absorbs light and feeds the weapon for firing six shooting maximum, after which it must be reloaded.

This rare weapon was seen in the Vault 13 in the armory before the events of Fallout, so before 2161. It might have been sent to the vault as a experimental weapon for field testing when opened.

It can be found in the special encounter "Guardian of Forever".
