Template documentation (for the template shown above, sometimes hidden or invisible)

Template for displaying featured articles on portal pages.

Supports 2 methods of selecting articles:

  • Monthly rotation: Display a rotation of 2-31 articles based on day of the month (with less than 31 articles, articles will be repeated).
  • Full rotation: Display a rotation of 366 articles based on day of the year.

Usage

{{Wikiportal/Featured article
|mode =monthly
|articlecount =10
|prefix =Wikiportal:Fallout 3/Featured article
}}

The featured articles should all be subpages of a certain page (specified with prefix).

Parameters

Yes
(default: "{{PAGENAME}}")
prefix
Name of the template (without "Template:") which the featured articles are subpages of.

For example, if prefix is set to "Wikiportal:Fallout/Featured article", the featured articles should be named:

  • "Template:Wikiportal:Fallout/Featured article/1" (up to "Template:Wikiportal:Fallout/Featured article/31") for the monthly rotation and
  • "Template:Wikiportal:Fallout/Featured article/1 January" (up to "Template:Wikiportal:Fallout/Featured article/31 December") for the full rotation.
Neutral
(default: "31")
articlecount
Number of articles to cycle through. Only has an effect if mode is set to "monthly", and if the number is lower than "31". When using partial rotations, the names of the featured article templates should be in ascending order and start at 1.
Neutral
(default: "monthly")
mode
Determines type of rotation.

Available options:

  • monthly: 31-article-rotation based on day of the month.
  • full: 366-article-rotation based on day and month.

DeathclawCA.jpg
Deathclaws are an enormously large, agile, and strong species of genetically engineered reptiles. They are substantially larger than a human, and have large and dangerous claws. It is claimed that they were originally derived from mixed animal stock DNA (mostly Jackson's Chameleons) before the Great War to replace humans during close-combat search-and-destroy missions and later refined by the Master, using genetic manipulation, but the accounts of their origins vary. Although they do not have vocal chords, the deathclaws seem to be able mimic human speech much the same as a parrot does, although normal deathclaws aren't intelligent enough to be capable of real speech.

Monthly rotation (31 articles)

AEP7LASERPISTOL.png
The AEP7 laser pistol is a military issue sidearm, as opposed to the civilian Wattz 1000 laser pistol commonly found on the West Coast. It is a relatively powerful energy weapon, at least compared to conventional firearms like the N99 10mm pistol or the Chinese pistol. With a generous battery size and fairly decent damage output, it's a very good choice for a sidearm and indeed it's used extensively in this role by the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave in the Capital Wasteland.

Full rotation (366 articles)

Fo3MZ Elliot Tercorien.png
Private Elliott Tercorien, serial number 3477809, is a non-player character in the Fallout 3 add-on Mothership Zeta. Tercorien was a medical doctor working in Washington, who gave up his job and joined the army, counting for a good administrative job in the capital. However, much to his dismay, he was shipped to Anchorage, Alaska, after receiving training in cryoscience. Attached to the 108th Infantry Battalion, he and his team were responsible for patching up soldiers wounded in combat with the Chinese.
