reverse pickpocket? Edit

anyone try sneaking and reverse pickpocketing armor in their inventory to see if it equips it??

I attempted this with three different armors, to no avail, however two of them had a DT of under 20, and the third was a set of power armor. Although it seems doubtful, more thorough testing is recommended. - Alister Poe 00:26, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

Possible Connection? Edit

Could there be a possible connnection between these and the Ghost People?

As the Hazmat Suit has a number of small differences from the ones in the Sierra Madra, is it possible that that is a different version, and the ones in the Sierra Madre could have been a combintion of some sort?

This would explain some questions, such as how they've survived for so long, and why they drag their victims off into the mist, rather than killing them on the spot.

I've seen little to help prove or disprove this theory, but then again, I wasn't really looking. But it does make sense to me.

Biological impossibility Edit

Technically, even if they had a brain so the suit could control their body, they wouldn't be able to move without muscles. At least, unable to shoot without forearms' muscles. They should have used the bodies of feral ghouls or some mutilated corpses found in the game instead of skeletons, it would've been more... realistic. I know it's a detail, but I just like to see science in "science-fiction". A walking skeleton, it's good for the Elder Scrolls, not Fallout.

I was under the impression that the suit itself acted as muscles. Like, the fibers within the cloth contracted or expanded to function as muscle in case of severe injury. -Alister Poe 18:00, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

very old human flesh Edit

shouldn't there be no human flesh as these guys are skeletons in walking suits. skeletons are just bones not flesh. it makes more sence to give human npc's human flesh on death. DAMN YOU OBSIDION!!! STOP GIVING SKELETONS FLESH!!!

No gloves on suit Edit

Any one notice that the suits have no gloves on them and that those hand and arm bones wouldn't be able to do anything without some of the artificial muscles from the suit covering them? (This strikes me as a developer oversight)

No, the cartilage between bones rots away too. This is why you never see skulls with ears. The fingers would just come apart. And even if they somehow stuck together, the constant motion of the suit would be enough to rattle them loose over 200 years. - Redmess (talk) 11:59, July 31, 2012 (UTC)

Combat tactics? Edit

Is it just me or do these things use coordinated tactics, I think there might be attack patterns with groups of harnesses, they seem to flank and hold formations. Has anyone else noticed this or am I just looking at it too hard? (Troper of the Wastelands)

One of the many flaws un-adressed in the development of the suits was the lack of an IFF device this was overlooked ( making an assumption off of another wiki article THIS IS NOT FACT) because the suits were never meant to fight just get the wounded back to there base, however the suits were made to take over the functions of a soldier so say a sniper got hit and put in a suit then the suit would be a sniper as well same would apply for a tank driver or medic. Also to answer the question of why they are wandering is because they lacked the impute of a designated home base, and to add un needed info the skeletons are there because the person inside has no way to get out of the suit until he reaches the designated base so without a base the suits wandered and the solderers starved. *Do not take information in this post as fact it is based purely off of wikipidia articles and my own opinions.*

Any places where these respawn? Edit

I'm trying to get a plasma caster so I need to find a place where the Harnesses respawn. Any ideas?

I’m sure there are other places, but the two I found easiest was by Higgs village and the X-7a artillery.

What I would do is exit the think tank/sink building and fast travel south to the X-2 transmitter then head due east toward Higgs, two will spawn there, but it can sometimes take a minute so you need to just kind of wait for them. From there I would fast travel to the X-7a and head west through the fence. Five would spawn in that general area.

In my game they would respawn continually, I don’t know if this was some kind of glitch but there was no need to wait the typical 3 days. I could go kill a group, go back to the sink and unload my loot, then go immediately back to the same spot and they would respawn. This was true about both Lobotomites and the Y-17 trauma overrides.

Tesla cannon? Edit

I noticed that one of these attacked me with a Tesla Cannon, I thought that the Brotherhood of Steel created the Tesla Cannon based off designs from Liberty Prime's eye beams. Only way I can make this logical (besides developer oversight) is that the researchers from the Big MT managed to get some schematics of Liberty Prime and developed the exact same weapon based off his eye beams. It says on here that the Tesla Cannons are a prewar design, but I have seen no evidence of that.

Y-17 trauma harness aren't corpses, they're only the suits. Dead corpses just happen to be inside them. Saying that Y-17 harness as the corpse is inaccurate. Eddo36 (talk) 02:39, August 27, 2012 (UTC)

Experience - 400? Edit

Information on the NPCs in the creature template says that the two highest-level versions of these give 400 experience... any confirmation on this? I'm playing OWB right now at level 44 and they're still giving 45 xp (50 but with Skilled trait). I've also played OWB multiple times at other levels and still, they give 50 xp, always.
