Founded in the Fictional Kanawha National Forest[]

This article claims, "Watoga was founded by Watoga, Inc. on February 4, 2042, built in the place of the cleared Watoga State Park forest," and references the Selection Committee Letter from the Mayoral Terminal. The date February 4, 2042 is in the file and that seems acceptable, but the, "build in the place of the cleared Watoga State Park Forest," has no source to it. In the real world there are two places with the Watoga place name, Watoga State Park, and a small unincorporated community not far from the park. Watoga State Park was created as a state forest in 1925, but it was changed to a state park during the depression. In game the city of Watoga is surrounded by a forest of tree stumps, but it is clear from their shape that these trees were felled by beavers. The local ranger station to the north, the Ranger District Office, has a sign marking it as part of the fictional Kanawha National Forest. Inside you can find references to a disagreement between the park rangers on staff as to whether or not the beavers are out of control. From the numerous beavers, beaver dams, and near complete deforestation of the Cranberry Bog region, it's clear that it was done by beavers. To clarify my point here, there is no Watoga State Park Forest IRL, nor is there reference to it anywhere in game. It appears that the forest was felled by beavers well after the 2042 founding date, so there's no evidence it was built in the place of a forest either. --IrresoluteCartographer (talk) 02:44, March 11, 2020 (UTC)

This is a very late response, but I've removed the reference to the Watoga State Park and made the sentence flow with information from the game guide, which states it was built on the site of an old ghost town. I suspect the original "Watoga State Park" information was included due to an over-reliance on real-world information, without any in-game source to actually back it up. AllYourFavorites!
