Uncle Leo in OblivionEdit

Could Uncle Leo the friendly Super Mutant in Fallout 3 be a reference to Uncle Leo the friendly zombie in Oblivion? 22:48, February 14, 2010 (UTC)zel

We don't cover similarities to past Bethesda titles on this wiki.--Gothemasticator 07:09, February 15, 2010 (UTC)

Seinfeld Anyone?Edit

isnt uncle leo also a reference to seinfeld's uncle leo

How about a reference to Fallout 1's Leo/Lou. Gotta take you to Lou. 05:57, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Can someone explain the Seinfeld reference please? (beyond there being a character with that name who is also an uncle) -- 06:24, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps because in Seinfeld the character was only known as "Uncle Leo"? I don't ever recall his name being used without the 'uncle' part. Can't you see the spitting resemblance? Seinfeld's Uncle Leo vs Fallout 3 super mutant modelIridia talk | contrib 16:33, January 2, 2010 (UTC)
I see it more as a reference to the Oblivion expansion The Shivering Isles. There's is a zombie (for those who haven't played, zombies are usually hostile)who won't attack, and he has the title "Uncle Leo", quite like the unusually non-hostile super-mutant in this game. 19:13, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

he was forced to abandon the water he was carrying? Also, how often do you really find purified water in the wasteland? AND, he hurt his leg! Poor Leo, man. Brings a tear to my eye.

40 hours of play/wandering the Wastelands and I haven't found him =/ Ploft 15:41, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
found him just now =D near Fort Constantine. Talking to him a second time didn't trigger the "second encounter", and my game isn't patched..Ploft 19:03, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
He hung around the Jury Area in my Game
Heck, I've been playing for 600 hours and I haven't found him.TheFrogger 22:39, September 16, 2009 (UTC)
850 hours and I've met him once. He's obviously a bit shy. Wunengzi 20:53, February 23, 2011 (UTC)

It has been confirmed that this is a direct reference to uncle leo from seinfeld (if you watch seinfeld it shows how angry and powerful he gets, a clear reference to becoming a super mutant)

It hasn't "been confirmed." There is nothing beyond the name itself to link these two characters, and that is not nearly enough to go on.--Gothemasticator 19:57, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

Uncle Leo saved me! Edit

I was at a low XP level and was in a stand up shoot out with a raider. we were both pretty low on health, and from out of nowhere, Leo appears and starts pummeling this raider. Allowed me to finish off the raider - it was freaking hilarious. He was just using his fists, so I don't know what provoked him.

On my first character, early in the game, I had finished the Fire Ant quest and was wandering around that area and came to the a big river with heavily armed super mutants on the other side shooting at me. Out of nowhere a friendly super mutant weilding a gatling laser came to my defense. It was Unlce Leo. Sadly I didn't survive the battle and he wasn't there when I respawned.

Dude, that's Fawkes. Uncle Leo doesn't have a weapon.

Hulk style uncle lou rampageEdit

i was literally being hunted by a squad of 5 regulators*i was running becuase my last weapon broke* at agathas house, after i crossed the bridge, uncle leo appears and punches the living daylights out of regulators, however he stood on the landmine i placed and killed me by accident --werewolfhell

Welp Edit

The first time I encounter this guy over the span of like seven files - that's like 200 hours - and he's a corpse between some cars and a radioactive pool north of Smith Casey's Garage. I didn't even think that was an encounter location, the robot didn't seem to be his aggressor. PositronicSpleen 03:29, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Voice Crashes - bug? Edit

When I encounter Leo, after a couple of dialog choices he has no sound- then about 20 seconds later my F3 locks up, requiring reboot. Anyone else getting this? Is it just my sound files are corrupted? If I shoot him on sight, there's no problem - except my game has no Uncle Leo.. (sobs). Kingmarco66 17:51, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Happens to me too. Which is a shame, I have to ignore him :(

This is a very common glitch, after this happends, wait a while and they'll talk, but their mouths will not move.

Interaction with Fawkes? Edit

C'mon, they've gotta say something to each other... 13:18, September 13, 2009 (UTC)

That was always one thing that annoyed me... no one comments if Fawkes is brought to the Citadel? Really? Or if Charon follows you into Tenpenny Tower.. They [Bethesda] really need to fix that, certain followers should open dialogue options. 01:33, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

No one comments if you stack the stripped dead bodies of the guard detail on the Tenpenny Towers lobby desk, with Tenpenny himself as the cherry on top, and then go and sell Tenpenny's suit in one of the stores. There are a lot of, um, problem areas like that. Wunengzi 20:57, February 23, 2011 (UTC)

Uncle Leo did say to me he was 'astounded' I was travelling with one of his 'brothers', referring to Fawkes obviously. He then went on with his cave story. 13:18, October 7, 2009 (UTC)

Not Much Edit

I havent had the privlage to run into Unlce Leo yet but if any body has any suggestions as to where and when they might have found him or any location details, thanks :)

I found him when I left the Yao Guai tunnels after collecting the bobblehead. Almost shot him, but saw the friendly marker in time. But he can appear anywhere, it seems to be random. 15:24, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

Mod Edit

I know this shouldn't go here but IDK where to put it. I feel really bad for Uncle Leo and I'm thinking that maybe a mod maker out there can make a little village of peaceful super mutants for him to lead. Not big, per-say, but a few to keep him company. JerichoRCDF 18:14, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

They did. It's called Jacobstown. Kinda out of the way for Uncle Leo though. But wouldn't it be fun if he ran into Tabitha and Rhonda some day? Wunengzi 21:01, February 23, 2011 (UTC)

or maybe bethesda could make a DLC where you can choose to start a quest for uncle leo. like you have to grab some DLC only supplies(cloth for tents, piles of wood for fire) for him to build a small camp where all non-aggresive super mutants are allowed...for good karma, that is...or you could give him nothing and attempt to kill him...of course killing him will make fawkes leave...but if you help with the camp, fawkes will now travel here when you fire him. anyone agree? Wrpen-99 12:46, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

nah. xNOKIx 07:48, February 26, 2011 (UTC)

Caps for info? Edit

Can someone confirm the part where "Information about Super Mutants may be relayed to Elder Lyons for 100 caps each"? I don't recall any such thing, and I've seen Uncle Leo on several playthroughs, though I can't confirm that I ever spoke to him after being admitted to the Citadel.Deadlykris 19:27, July 9, 2010 (UTC)

You must be mistaken. You get 100 good karma points for telling Lyons about Vault 87. You need to start the Picking Up the Trail quest to go there. User:Riond55
I didn't add that statement, and knew nothing about it, which is why I asked about it here. I went ahead and removed that statement from the article since it doesn't seem to be founded in fact. Kris (talk) 16:17, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

Brotherhood Not Hostile? Edit

With Star Paladin Cross as a Follower, she initiated an attack on Uncle Leo from quite a long distance away. I followed her and didn't even see him until I got closer, and I hadn't attacked him because my weapon wasn't drawn until she opened fire.

Has this happened to anyone else, or is it just a glitch? The page states that the Brotherhood will not attack him, but that wasn't the case for me..

Followers generally ignore their own enemies if they're not also your enemies; case in point, taking Cross to Fort Independence is safe, but firing her there will cause her to kill the Outcasts there. Kris (talk) 14:06, August 7, 2010 (UTC)

Well actually,in the first encounter,Uncle Leo says he was running from some "bleeders" He's obviously reffering to the Brotherhood of Steel, because they Shoot first and ask questions later,Star Paladin Cross is partly a cydborg, because she used to guard your mother and father in Project Purity's early days, she was badly wounded and hurt by Super Mutants,(or so I've heard) So they must have programmed her to do certain stuff. I mean, she must have been dead, because when you do have her as a follower, you can't miss it,she sounds completley lifeless.

Bad voice acting aside, that makes zero sense. Mostly, because outside of the Commonwealth and Big MT, nobody has the technology for cybernetics - including the Brotherhood of Steel. With Broken Steel, they think it might take months or years, just to rebuild a robot, and you think they turned Cross into Robocop? Yes, she was around to help your parents - which is why she's middle aged. Yes, she was badly injured - but you can be badly injured in the game as well - that doesn't mean anybody turns you into a cyborg. Digital Utopia (talk) 18:03, June 23, 2014 (UTC)
Cross is a cyborg, and this has been confirmed through the official game guide. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 18:25, June 23, 2014 (UTC)
I stand corrected. Out of curiosity, are there any in-game references to this? I realize that the game guide is considered a proper source, in the context of this wiki; but it seems quite odd in the context of the Fallout universe - especially from a backwater chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel, that needed decades (and another scientist) to get a fully assembled robot working. Digital Utopia (talk) 22:42, June 23, 2014 (UTC)
Unfortunately not. It would have really helped if they clarified the matter in-game. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 23:49, June 23, 2014 (UTC)

Fallout New Vegas anyone?! Edit

How has no one stated that Lily keeps noting Leo and he might not be a figure of her imagination?-- 23:28, June 12, 2012 (UTC)

Just thought the same. - 23:26, September 29, 2012 (UTC)

Because they did and it was wrong and it got deleted. Literally. JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 23:39, September 29, 2012 (UTC) Hmm... but Leo with Lilly wants her to do evil things-- 23:28, March 26, 2013 (UTC)

And they're like 2000 miles apart. I wasn't aware that FEV Airlines, or Mutie Wireless was a thing. Digital Utopia (talk) 18:08, June 23, 2014 (UTC)

Enclave Eyebot Edit

After our encounter Uncle Leo began walking away. He stopped moving and I went to see why but could find no reason. As I was standing there next to him, an Enclave Eyebot came down the road and bumped right into Leo face-to-face and Leo said, "Hello little singer". It made me giggle, I figured it was cute enough to come share. 02:59, June 12, 2013 (UTC)sig

Second Appearance Edit

Has anyone run into an issue with Leo appearing for a second time? Do you need to exhaust all dialogue options before making Leo appear in a second random encounter? I've tried to get Leo to appear at a 'B' location he showed at during a prior run, but my LW can't seem to encounter him again. Might it be because I didn't 'rob' him during the first encounter? 17:09, August 29, 2013 (UTC)

Evil Edit

So...If he's some wandering pacifist and has re-discovered his humanity by resenting the blood lusting violence of his other brethren then how is he considered an "Evil" character?-Boba fett 32 (talk) 18:17, September 4, 2013 (UTC)

NPC/Creature SPECIAL, Karma, Tag Skills, and so on are not meant to be accessible by the player. This means that Karma isn't always accurate 100% of the time with regards to one's character. It's the same story for Neil. 18:30, September 4, 2013 (UTC)
Even despite that - just because you decide to start doing good things - or more accurately, stop doing bad deeds, doesn't mean that your past deeds are erased. This even holds true for the player. For instance, if you blow up Megaton - you need to do more than just not kill innocent people for your karma to go up. Digital Utopia (talk) 18:14, June 23, 2014 (UTC)

I just ran into Uncle Leo with some raiders nearby, she ran over to them fists-raised and pummeled one of them to death, but ignored the rest which were focusing on me, then when I spoke with her just after the zen moon speech the game froze.

The raider she aggro'd on was actively shooting her, so I think that she probably only agros on something if it actually attacks her.

I was going to edit the page myself to say this, but I thought I'd mention it here to discuss it.

Before anyone says, no it's not Fawkes, I'm only level 4 and I walked into her on my way to Three Dog for the main questline.

Uncle Leo's karma is evil? -- 15:22, January 20, 2015 (UTC)Rebecca

Yes. He gets his stats from a super mutant master. Probably an oversight. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 15:27, January 20, 2015 (UTC)

How could Uncle Leo's karma be evil? It doesn't make sense since he's one of the only two Super Mutants, besides Fawkes, that are friendly in the Capital Wasteland. Even the GECK shows that his karma is evil. It doesn't make sense.
