Is it the Constitution?[]

The vessel shown in the announcement has the same paint job as the USS Constitution and the map of potential locations marked on the Boston map for locations show the Constitution's location. The vessel is an iconic part of the Boston harbor and a national treasure so it makes sense for the ship to appear in this game. It may possibly be a replica ship of the Constitution but that would seem highly unlikely. If the map that is on the main Fallout 4 page is from Bethesda then the ship should appear in the game(even as burnt timbers like the white house).

I say lets presume it is for now, we can always rename the page later. Agent c (talk) 20:32, June 3, 2015 (UTC)
The design of the vessel, minus the engines(?) grafted onto the sides as well as the pain job and layout of the masts seems to match that of the constitution. Lacking a better name for the page, I would suggest leaving it as is until further details emerge. Richie9999 (talk) 20:52, June 3, 2015 (UTC)
The ship has a name plate on the back that is partially covered by the engines but I think i can see the letter "CONS" this may not yet confirm the name but it seems to state that this vessel is the Constitution.Johnatha (talk) 21:31, June 3, 2015 (UTC)
The design of the rear of the vessel, from the number of stars, to the eagle to the white bars and to what appears to the name plate match that of the real constitution, removing deletion tag.Richie9999 (talk) 21:42, June 3, 2015 (UTC)
Here is a picture comparison of in-game versus the real ship. http://imgur.com/plrx7tp Digital21 (talk) 03:06, June 4, 2015 (UTC)
"with dual turbo engines, similar to those used in the creation of military jets" So turbo or jet engines?Justas.pingvinas (talk) 08:53, June 19, 2015 (UTC)

I know this was all pre-game release talk, but does anyone else feel that the first section of the "Background" area that talks about the ship's history prior to any inclusion in a Fallout game should be merged into the "Behind the scenes" section? That's normally where we put information "real world" information on the game's representation of said object. Ulithium Dragon (talk) 04:47, December 27, 2015 (UTC)

No not really, as that is the ship's background and there is no indication/evidence that the ship's history was any different to the real USS Constitution. Nick3258 (talk) 12:19, December 29, 2015 (UTC)

Speculation[]

Why does this have the comment about possibly hinting towards flight. That's complete speculation and until we see more we shouldn't make assumption. I'm going to to remove it at least until we see game-play.

Well the position of the rockets in question considering that at least one of the engine in question is pointed vertically, I highly doubt the ship would be a Submarine or conventionally operated ship. please add your singnature in the future.--Johnatha (talk) 04:32, August 30, 2015 (UTC)

Item Ownership[]

Possibility of a glitch on the PS4 version, I've talked to ironsides after the ship launches, and all items are still marked as I cannot take them. That normal?

That is normal - not everyone will change their ownership status on their stuff just because you did a quest or two for them. I get the same results after completing the quest on the PC version (even in it's new location, but in the interior and exterior portions of the ship). Monty Python reference?[]

I was playing when a robot spoke about tax paying and loans and that reminded me of the movie "The meaning of life" by Monty Python, where they turn their office into a flying pirate ship.

Engine Citations?[]

In one part of the article, it is stated that the Constitution has two NX-42 engines; elsewhere the article says that multiple Rocketdyne F-1 engines are mounted. Citations would be helpful -- image or terminal entries -- to prove that one (or both) of these is correct. NomadMC (talk) 21:03, December 20, 2016 (UTC)

Possible Star Trek reference?[]

The USS Enterprise NCC-1701 from the original "Star Trek" is a Constitution-class starship. One of its distinct features is the golden deflector dish at the stern of the engineering section. The USS Constitution in Fallout 4 also has a yellow dish at its stern, making it a potential reference to Star Trek.

It's not a Star Trek reference. The USS Constitution in the game is based on a real world ship by the same name that exists in Boston. The Cat Master (talk) 21:09, September 9, 2020 (UTC)
I know, but Star Trek's Constitution-class is named after the USS Constitution, so in conjunction with the dish Fallout 4's USS Constitution could serve a Star Trek reference as well (one could argue that the two giant rockets are kind of mirroring the starship's warp nacelles. On its own I would call it far-fetched, but together with the yellow dish (which is a rather distinct color on both ships) it is a valid option IMO).
