I'm going to try out this perk in hardcore normal difficulty. I have had a lot of luck with ranged companions, a high sneak and explosion skill doing an exploding pants run. I may regret this perk if I cannot outrun an exploding pair of pants without consuming a turbo each try. BehemothGHUNTER 01:31, November 24, 2010 (UTC)Behemoth Game Hunter

someone unedited me saying?

I dont know what I wrote wrong, and I apologized if I did so, but I noticed when using the Fat Man with this perk, the cloud and explosion is incredibly larger then before, and makes the Fat Man even more useful in becoming an all-around anti-group weapon, though yes, Demotions Expert perk, Splash Damage perk, and the Hit the Deck Perk, these three perks basically make the Fat Man one of thebest (and most dangerous) weapon in the game for AoE, killing most Fiends in one hit at Vault 3, and seeing a giant mushroom cloud erupt before me is very enterntaining XD, if only there was a mod to make the fatman faster in reloading lol, instead of wasting it on a perk -_-.

p.s., heads up, witht eh splash damage perk, the Fat Man is more then likely going to hit you and your allies within the blast (yeah, that big :/) so if you see an enemy afar, try to traject the launch carefully and have a blast.

is the effect real?

Looking in the GECK there is absolutely nothing listed in the effects of the perks and it's not used in any default objects/scrips or anything. Is the radius increase a real thing or is it just a psychological trick and a bogus perk?? Can anyone test? I tried testing with a plasma mine and saw no noticeable visual effect. --Dandys 03:38, December 26, 2010 (UTC)

I thought so, I tested it with a Fat Man and the effects are true there, I lobbed it in Freeside without the perk before, and the cloud was small ofcourse and I didnt feel the damage or hit (when you enter in Freeside with the mormon fort, there is a car not too far that I lobbed at)...then with the Perk, not only was I damaged greatly, but most of the people ended up being hostile with me, plus the cloud was visually larger then ever..DONT TRY HOLY FRAG GRENADES WITH THIS PERK lol, I ended up dying instantly and only managed to live if I threw it and ran for the hills XD - Zerginfestor

Tested it with Missile Launcher, Frag Grenades and Mines, also with Fat Man. The explosion radius stays same. I'm 100% sure this perk doesn't work, you can check in GECK, it has no values, subjects or references in it, it's empty Perk. never take

At least I will personally never take this perk in hardcore mode again. even with all the perks reducing friendly fire, all my companions would die along with the enemies 90% of the time. Boone and Ed E were the obvious safe choices, but even they would die a lot. Don't even get me started on indoor fighting. 76.198.64.241 21:14, September 8, 2011 (UTC)
