This was a totally new weapon, why in the world would they cut this out? Gabriel Cortez 08:00, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Maybe because Beth thought they would have to go and make every single other wrench a weapons and they just got lazy? SuSpence95 (Talk) 08:04, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Maybe they thought the Bioshock comparisons would be too much --Carpathian Cookie 08:16, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
True, since BioShock is basically an underwater version of this game or vice versa. I mean they already added a scopeless revolver and a double barrel shotgun. All they need now is a tommy gun. SuSpence95 (Talk) 09:24, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
I Think this would have been more of a Prey comparison seeing as both feature alien abduction and spaceships and probing.
I think it was cut because it would look too much like the Engineer from Team Fortress 2.

workers Edit

i think its pretty obvious that the workers would have these or maybe Somah since she has such a high repair skill

I doubt the workers would make use of a human wrench, if you look at all the other alien "do-dads" around the ship, it's pretty clear they don't use the same types of tools humans would. --DashMan54 14:58, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

The aliens might have wrenches, probably just as novelty items, though. According to canon sources, they have been abducting people for hundreds of years. Bethesda probably thought that people would mistake it for a continuity blooper, though, and cut it without deleting it from the item db. --XG33Kx 09:10, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

The workers might have kept one as a charm or something. Alien: 'Wow, my performance has gotten better since acquiring this. I'm gonna keep it.' JerichoRCDF 20:42, December 4, 2009 (UTC)

I think that over the course of years they have abducted humans, they have observed them and how they have advanced, technologically. This might have been here either as a unique weapon, or a typical weapon, I.E. Tire Iron. CheezeWEEPツ 02:10, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

Found in console:Edit

Pretty sure that i found a spanner on one of the raiders that was thawed in the cryo labs/storage areas. When i went around looting bodies there was one with a wrench. Didn't think much about it till now. Will reload save to see. Is it possible for random spawns to have cut weapons. This was on the xbox 60.230.197.149 17:55, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

Edit: Edit

Edited the part about saying it becomes invisible when dropped as the information has been proved wrong

way spanner is held Edit

I just used the console to get this and technically, I would hold it that way as well. I mean, sure you could use it as a club, but holding the head against your arm and using the handle as the bludgeon would give you better recover time and more control as the weight would be with your arm and not working against it. some would prefer the extra weight being used to increase the damage output but better control would mean more hits so it would be a matter of preference in real life, but not necessarily is it being held 'wrong'.JerichoRCDF 23:42, January 30, 2010 (UTC)

It is an adjustable crescent wrench, you wouldn't want to screw it up or you would have a worthless crescent-wrench. Technically the best way to hold it, since it isn't a pipe-wrench witch is heavy and durable. Axier 14:46, February 23, 2010 (UTC)

Why? Edit

Of all the things to cut, why the Spanner? It would have been soooo cool :c. Nukey (talk) 03:18, September 30, 2010 (UTC)

We will have to be satisfied with shovels. There pretty cool i guess.--Radraider 00:25, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

SomahEdit

I assume it was Somah's, as her repair is 100. They probably realized that it would have been completely horrible, though, as this would likely get her killed since it's weak. --Valoopy sig Valoopy 23:24, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
